Does anyone think the essay will be on the respiratory system or some kind of Hardy Weinberg problem…have they given those in a while?

Based on past labs, which lab do you guys think they’ll focus on this year…THANKS…

i just got the petersons/arco AP bio prep book… is this okay for prepping?

hardy weinberg is not bad… respiratory system… i don’t know. i know once they had a question where you had to compare respiratory system across phyla

Year/Essay on Lab
98/1&6
99/4
00/2
01/12
02/1,6,11
03/7
04/4
05/1
06/9
07/6

This leads me to believe 5 is DUE, 2 maybe likely, 12 maybe also…

Respiratory System, Digestive, & Circulatory system were all part of one essay 2 years ago.

Nervous system was last year but also the year before that…so you never know.

My d took bio AP her freshman year. We used Barron’s to review with … went over each section with the corresponding area the teacher was going over in class. Right before the exam we used the Barron’s box of notecards and flipped through those, reminding her of various words she might have forgotten. My S didn’t study at all during the semester; he was a junior in another school taking the same exam. He and I reviewed with Barron’s one afternoon for about 4 hours. She got a 5; he got a 4 (he’d had freshman honors biology to back up his four hours of extra study; she had not)

zebes

good thinking, by narrowing down the lab essay, i think it must be 2, 3, OR most likely 5, 8, or 10, surely they wont ask 1,4,6,7,9 since they were current

good to know, so recap essays: study human body systems, those labs mentioned, and ??? do you think they might have a PLANT/ECOLOGY essay? and do they always have an essay on EVOLUTION or GENETICS???

and how many can a student LEAVE BLANK and still get a 4 or 5, out of 100 questions, can a student leave about 15-20 blank? 100 max

3 is mitosis/meiosis, 8 is HW…I’d be suprised to see those as a focus for a lab essay.

Definitely an essay involving ecology, last year it was desert biome & food chains, two years ago interspecific competition, competitive exclusion, & carrying capacity.

Don’t know about the blanks…I usually say it’s better to guess if you can at least narrow it down to two options.
For some reason I’ve got my mind on eutrophication and lab 12 this year…don’t know why…just a hunch.

Also, there is sure to be an essay devoted if not entirely, partly to plants. Know transpiration.

[Index of /pptAP/REVIEW](http://www.explorebiology.com/pptAP/REVIEW/)

Here is a ppt that walks through all AP labs…maybe this can help you…

nooo not plants!

Meiosis/Mitosis or Population Genetics/Evolution is most likely going to be the lab essay (what my class predicted). My teacher who has been teaching bio for 35 years and AP Bio for however long it has been around predicted this.

thank you for the info!

wut about labs 2, 5, or 10? also please don’t say theres a PLANT essay question…

Does anyone have the 2002 Practice MC test released on PDF, can you message me , thanks (I do have the 1994, 1999 test that I can trade with you)

if I am reading the 2nd edition of Cliff’s yellow bio book, is that fine, or 3rd edition is a must?

Just a random comment: Don’t get REA. I bought it thinking 6 practice exams are pretty sweet, but the exams are terrible and full of misinformation and irrelevant information.

okay so for the essays, I think we should make a HOT TOPICS list to review for the weekend: here is what I have so far from ppl that messaged me and teacher predictions:

ESSAY REVIEW-MAJOR HOT TOPICS TO STUDY IN LAST DAYS!!!

POSSIBLE LAB ESSAYS: Lab #10, Lab #9, Lab #5, Lab#2, Lab #12.

PAST Year/Essay on Lab
98/1&6
99/4
00/2
01/12
02/1,6,11
03/7
04/4
05/1
06/9
07/6

Evolution/Speciation

Nervous System and Reproductive System

Cell/Molecule one?

Chemisomosis, membrane related to ATP or cell respiration with lab 5

Maybe heredity…

water, transpiration, also ties into Lab 9

ANYTHING ELSE, ANYONE WANT TO MAKE MY TOPICS SPECIFIC OR ELABORATE? LOL IM A BIT NERVOUS AS U CAN TELL

We had a free response question on membranes last year, so I’m not sure that there’ll be one on your exam this year.

lol basically i hate how this course is so much content, 55 chapters is a lot, and teachers should organize better…we didn’t cover like 5 whole chapters including 1, 32-34, and quickly rushed through plants and ecology in a rush…yep which was 10 more chapters…

i guess it’s all up to review books…
