aah… Human evolution…feels like I am learning Chapter 1-2 of AP World History…

Um, has Human evolution ever been on the free response section of the exam?

when i talking about human evolution im also talking about natural selection and things like that

Ok my teacher just dropped a hint today!

NERVOUS SYSTEM!

remember it like your phone number

usually they ask you to compare a system through various phyla (like describe the excretory or nervous system in platyhelminthes, annelids, and humans)

What? they just asked about the nervous system last year. Would they ask it again?

btw, has anyone tried the practice test in cliff? (I have 2nd edition) Am I the only one who thinks those questions are worded really badly? Sometimes the answers seem to be so unclear.

just fyi, my teacher this year insists that environment will be a big topic, since I think CC just changed the rubric this year to include “human environmental impact” and other envisci sort of things on there. believe what you want.

im just telling you guys

of course it is always good to be prepared in all areas

hi!
i’m reading five steps to a five right now, and it seems pretty good. but i’m seeing that the general opinion on this discussion is that cliffs is the best. so i was wondering if i should try and finish reading five steps to a five and then buy cliffs and skim through it? is there any material in cliffs that five steps doesnt have that would be crucial to doing well on the exam?

Ok. Apparently, my teacher has been talking to other ap biology teachers and she said it is high probable that a essay question on reproduction comes up. There was one more she talked about. I’ll check my planner and tell you guys later because I wrote it down quickly when she said it.

The other one is endocrine system!

Thanks

(10 char)

My teacher recommended Princeton Review and she’s insanely good. Last year 20/22 passed and almost half got 5s

okay ESSAY FOCUS, thanks to amandeep: ENDOCRINE/REPRODUCTIVE SYSTEMS

any more tips/hints/teacher guesses/class guesses- keep em coming!

NERVOUS SYSTEM—I am thinking by these “hints” the ESSAY question MIGHT be "Explain how the body systems mentioned above are inter-connected and work together e.g.: hormones/neurons/correct imbalances/maintain homeostasis

that’s only 1 possibility, but as always, isn’t there 1 on LABS? and 1 on EVOLUTION-but that’s too broad-anyone care to elaborate your guesses?

does anybody know if there will be a lot on plant fertilization?
what about nephrons?

yea my teacher said there might be a couple of plant fertilization ques…but especially bryophytes…the basics like which generation is dominant and be sure you know the basics about the antheridium and the megaspores n stuff

I took AP Bio last year and got a 5 on the exam, and I think I (mainly) owe my success to Barron’s.

I read the whole Barron’s book a full week before the exam (the SAT II was on the Saturday the week before the exam). I at least got to see all of the bolded words and know what sections they pertain to (even if I didn’t remember the specifics about each term). I was able to know that a chaperone is a protein, and not some weird parenting term that describes species behavior. Just the skim helped.

And the Barron’s questions are definitely harder than those on the actual AP. As I was sitting there taking the test, I was wondering why I had studied so hard.

As for the essays, don’t be too worried. Remember that the graders won’t ever deduct points, so just write everything you know about the topic, even if it’s just remotely related.

Good luck on the exam :)

Although I hear that Cliff’s Bio AP is the best around, it seems that their test make our grades inflated.

I finished the first MC in 45 minutes, and still got 93 correct (my score was lower with the real released AP).

Did I improve, or is this change attributable to the unrealistic and easy Cliff AP Bio tests?

the ACTUAL college board exams are the BEST predictors/indicators of what you need to review - someone can pdf that to you

PR/Cliffs/Barrons all have “similar” tests but they are never EXACTLY the same

thanks for the plant prediciton, back to essay predictions:

IS THERE EVER A FREE RESPONSE ON ECOLOGY? since my class just started today

Bah… 3 wrong in a row on a practice exam because I forgot that right = left, and left = right when im looking at a picture of a heart
