AP courses during Junior Year, AP Language vs. English H

Due to pre-reqs & previous school’s rules, my D was not able to take AP courses during her 1st two years of HS. For her Junior year, her schedule includes Forensics, Psychology, College Spanish, College Pre Calc, AP US History and Physics H.

She is currently registered for AP Lang & Comp, but she is considering to take English H instead. She believes that English H will have more enjoyable literature & writing, while AP Lang will focus in gramm. With the change, the schedule should be still challenging but probably a bit less stressful.

Does anyone have comments/advice on how the change will impact her application for competitive colleges?

Thank you.

Competitve colleges like to see that students take the most rigorous schedule offered to them, so if it is possible I would stick with AP.

Thank you.

Two AP classes to start out with should be fine. APUSH and AP Lang are very writing intensive classes, which is essentially like taking two English classes. Although it varies by school, ask your daughter to talk to other friends, classmates, etc who have taken the class and/or refer to [this chart](http://www.fcps.edu/westspringfieldhs/student_services/assets/academic_advising/ap_course_expectations.pdf) to get some idea of what you daughter can expect.
