How long should AP Euro LEQ Rubric be? Would an essay of 500 words be appropriate? What would you recommend?
Word count isn’t really the best way to gauge an AP essay, especially since you’ll be writing it by hand under time pressure (no time to count words). A standard 5 or 6 paragraph essay that covers all the points is good.
That I understand but I need a general reference point so that I know how much to elaborate on specific points and how to manage my time. Five paragraphs doesnt really give me a sense of direction

If you scroll down, you can see examples of past LEQs and how the College Board graded them. This might give you a gauge on how long your LEQ should be. Also, an eloquent essay is not what matters. What matters is making sure you hit everything on the rubric.
