AP Exam Grade VS AP Class Grade?

Last Year I took AP World History, and I ended the class with a good A. However, on the exam, I got a 3. This year, in AP Biology, I’ve gotten really high A’s all year, but I feel extremely underprepared for the exam.
Does anyone know what colleges focus more on?

Colleges focus much more on the grade. However, your score will imply grade inflation.

I think its somewhat equal…but the AP exam should be more important as it is universal where as grade changes significantly between schools. For instance, my schools AP Environmental Science is also viewed as really hard because the teacher is really hard…yet the AP exam everyone knows is easy. Same with my AP Computer Science class, the class is beyond easy you are not trying if you don’t get an A…but AP Computer Science is not an easy AP exam itself.

AP exam is on a universal scale…everyone takes the same exam, while the grade has many other factors based on teachers and such between schools.
