AP Lang test -- without the class!!!

any advice for someone who wants to do this? any good books or advice or tips or anything? should i study?? what? vocab??

HELP!

Look on amazon for books and stuff.

Bah, you don’t need the class. Also, there were very little questions pertaining to terminology, although it probably helps to go over a list of that vocabularly, because I remember maybe 1 question and also that most of the essays had to do with compositional techniques.

Don’t let that scare you off, though. If you’ve been taking English, you should do fine. I didn’t know any of the jargon, and really, it’s all about just writing a well-developed essay that answers the question. If you’ve got good reading comprehension and can write decently you should be fine.

So you know, you’ll find yourself writing about how repitition of X word helps create X mood, and things like that.

practice writing the essays x a zillion

anyone else?

just get a book and take a practice test /look at the excersizes, you have to know a little about rhetorics but its pretty easy. i think i used kaplan, and i got a 5 with like a few hours of prep and no class. but i test well on english. so yeah… just get a book and see how ya do?

definitely go through practice books and tests.

i took the test without the class and got a 4…
mind you that i am not like most CC smart people. i just went over an AP english practice book the weekend before.
it’s totally possible

Read the Cliffnotes and you will get a 4 at the minimum.

The class does not help you at all. I learned more from a book than from the class.

Basically if you have passion and talent in writing, then you will do fine. A class cannot change that.

well, the thing is, i’m really not the best writer, but i feel like i can maybe do ok… i did well on my act writing/reading (36/34/12)…
