AP Psych and APHUG Textbooks/Prep Books?

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some AP Psych and APHUG textbooks or prep books for self-studying. Also, if anyone has self studied and taken these APs before, could you guys please post your score and some tips?

Thanks!!

bump…

I did self study AP Psych (and got a 5). While not a strategy I’d recommend, I did it over a weekend with Barron’s (which is sorta why colleges don’t put much stock in simply self studying for an exam).

FYI, the fact that the AP Psych exam is so mind-numbingly easy is one of the main reasons Dartmouth eliminated AP credit.

I have no personal experience with APHG, since none of my prospective colleges would offer credit for it. Good luck.

Does anyone have any prep book/textbook recommendations for APHUG?

I’m taking AP Human this year and I’ve heard the Kaplan book is the best - I still need to buy it! I’m pretty sure most schools use the Cultural Landscape textbook.

Seconding skieurope on AP Psych. I took a look at all the psych vocab a few days before the test and binge studies. Managed to get a solid 4. The test is just a vocab hurl. Good luck!

I took AP HuG my freshman year and AP Psych my sophomore year, and I’m a junior now. Both of the classes (assuming they have not changed) are just based on memorizing facts and information, and not as much about actually applying concepts. I took both of them on my school’s campus and used the 5 Steps To a 5 book, scored a 4 on HuG and 5 on Psych. Do a bunch of practice FRQs and multiple choice tests. As long as you memorize vocabulary, you should be fine in May.
