I will be a senior next year. I want to be a bio major.
Next year’s course load for me will be quite rigorous, and I want to take stat, calc 2, and ceramics (as a relaxing course). I have to choose 2 of these 3. Which ones should I choose?
If I take AP Stat or Calc 2 would I have to retake it anyways in college?
Do you know is your Calc 2 class similar to AP Calc BC?
I haven’t taken any of those classes so my apologies if I’m not very helpful, but my dad said that taking BC Calc is good for going into a STEM field (especially technology/math though). And the seniors at my school have suggested taking at least one relaxing course, which would be ceramics. You shouldn’t have to retake AP Stats in college if you do well on the AP exam. I’m unsure about Calc 2 and if you’d have to retake that (sorry!).
It’s better to take a Stats class in college freshman year–it’ll be more rigorous, and you’ll get more out of it. Additionally, some colleges don’t accept AP Stat credit.
I don’t think it’s wise to take both Calc 2 and AP Stat concurrently, unless you want to be a math major/go into a STEM field (you don’t).
