AP US History review book

The AP US History test is about a month away now, and while I’ve been reading the textbook that is taught in my class, I’ve decided that it might be beneficial to pick up a review book to look at in the time I have left.

From browsing this site and a couple of others it seems that the ones that everyone seems to like are:
+AMSCO

 • Direct Hits
 • REA

I don’t think that I’ll want to get AMSCO though, it’s 700 pages and seems a bit too much to try to get in in the month left.

Direct Hits isn’t published anymore and I can’t find a reasonably priced copy anywhere. I’ve seen a post here about a book by the same author “The Insider’s Complete Guide to AP US History: The Essential Content” ([Amazon.com: The Insider’s Complete Guide to AP US History: The Essential Content (9780985291204): Larry Krieger: Books](http://www.amazon.com/The-Insiders-Complete-Guide-History/dp/0985291206/ref=sr_1_17?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1333741701&sr=1-17)), but I can’t find any reviews on it and am not sure if it’s a good book to pick up.

When people mention REA as a good review book, are they talking about the Crash Course book or the other REA AP US book? ([Amazon.com: AP U.S. History Crash Course 2nd (second) edition Text Only: Larry Krieger: Books](http://www.amazon.com/U-S-History-Crash-Course-second/dp/B004NSXZRK/ref=sr_1_20?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1333741701&sr=1-20) or [Amazon.com: AP United States History: 8th Edition (Advanced Placement (AP) Test Preparation) (9780738606255): J. A. McDuffie, G. W. Piggrem, Steven E. Woodworth, Advanced Placement, US History Study Guides, Gregory Feldmeth: Books](http://www.amazon.com/United-States-History-Placement-Preparation/dp/0738606251/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1333743325&sr=1-2) ?)

I’m really confused. Right now I’m considering the Insider’s book or the Crash Course book. Which one do you think would give a more thorough review? Are there any others that you would strongly recommend? I’ll only be able to purchase one (I already have 5 steps to a 5 AP US), so which book do you think will do an overall good job at preparing me?

Thank you.

Oh come on. You can read AMSCO :stuck_out_tongue: Just try to read it constantly in a week. Maybe 5 chapters a day…I’m sure you can finish it within a week or two. After you’ve finished it, buy REA and read over it the weekend before the test.
