OH MY GOD GUYS.

We lost power right after Blue started talking about how she was getting insecure about getting into Groton and while I was writing a reply! We haven’t had power this entire day…just got it back half an hour ago. Traffic lights didn’t work and my friend’s house flooded…the tarpaulin (?) of my neighbor’s shed blew off (it’s actually kinda funny lmao) and my brother’s sandbox lid is probably somewhere across town haha. I’ve been doing homework by candlelight and been SEVERELY INTERNET DEPRIVED AHHH xD

Othen than that, we bought bedding and pillows for boarding school today. 8D And a lighter that doesn’t work, whoo hoo.

Blue, what you said about…basically everything, I TOTALLY AGREE. Asdfjkl; it’s bothering me so much, because my app was definitely a lot better sounding than I actually am. Also I can’t believe they ignored my C+ in math. But you know what? Adcoms are smart, if they admitted us then there must be SOMEthing right about it. Hopefully.

o_O

OMG tuesdays my power went off this morning!!! Came back after a few hours though. Do you mind me asking where you live, you can be vague like New England ect… if you want. and I’m glad someome understands :)

Okay so I just read through the whole thing with your dad, Flip, and I don’t even know what to say-- that just really really sucks =( Maybe since now the storm’s sort of over, he’s a little less stressed and you can approach him again? Also, if he’s mostly concerned about college, you can show him your current school’s matriculation list and Exeter’s. I mean, in 4 years 53 people went to Harvard from Exeter.

I really, really hope he comes around, flip ;__; DON’T GIVE UP!

LOL I live in New Jersey =B It’s okay, I know where you live >D Haha that sounds so creepy.

Yeah, I’m really scared I’ll totally suck at boarding school. Cuz I don’t have THAT many ECs, and I have literally no sports (although I know fencing, so I’ll probably take up club fencing or something but that’s not the point blarghndhfjkhfg). So I know how you feel!!

I can’t wait to meet you (and everyone of course)! I’m totally voting for Boston in October

BOSTOOON YES!! I was telling my mom about it and she was like ‘…okay are you sure these people are like…normal…’ and i was like ‘ahahahahaha…eheh’ haha jkk :P

I don’t know if I’m normal :stuck_out_tongue: but I promise not to be some weird 30 year old guy,k? Get FB and then you can verify

Don’t worry, normal people are boring ;D lol i’m really really reaaaally tempted to. I’ll probably end up getting one at least before revisit day. maybe. idk!!

I kind of wish I’d applied to Exeter everyone seems to be going there. Although I love Groton of course. I never really looked at PEA properly.

WHYYYYY didn’t you applyyyyyy. AGH you’re like just the person PEA would like! smart, procrastinatory, capable of not sleeping…lol xD

Groton is pretty awesome. I was just scared away by the weekly chapel thing.

I’M NAWT WIERD AT ALL  wink wink nudge nudge

OF CAWSE NOT! bwoo ha ha

okay i’m too obsessed with this song haha

I say November, right when you guys go on break (b/c i’m usually in cambridge around then lol)

I love that song too Martes! And thanks for all your support guys! I’m glad I have people I can talk to. I really hope I can go.

I hope so too!

goodnight all

If your parents are NOT on board, please please please talk to the school you were accepted to. They have been doing this for a long time and are very happy to call up reluctant parents and sell them on the idea of BS. They may even send a local alum to have lunch with your parents, or (through extensive BS networking) figure out someone who knows your parents that is connected to the school and have them join in on the process. Please do NOT try and convince your parents on your own. You parents see you as a kid with zero life experience. It is very rare that a child can sway the mind of their own parent (if the parent is actually against the idea). You need a third party outsider - an ADULT - to provide context for your parents. Stop bugging them and start reaching out to the adcom who admitted you. If you badger your parents too much, they will shut down and then they may refuse to even speak to the adcom. Get an adult involved in this process.

wow… these adult people really know what they are doing. good advice.

so blue, it looks like we’re going to the same revisit day? that’s kinda awesome. if we see each other we can mutually verify that we are not middle-aged men. sound good?

and soul sister is my life… except not… but i like it a lot :)
