Anyone else still waiting? S was trying for Material Science.

Hi! Do you mean Materials Engineering? Sorry your son is still waiting. That is frustating! What are his stats? Have you called admissions?

I'm still waiting for Art & Design, still undetermined. But as I have said in the past, they just got our portfolios a little over two weeks ago and said it would be a two week review, then notification about three weeks after that. I am nervous, anxious, feeling sick to my stomach, but I have to respect the process because they really do know what they are looking for.

I am on pins and needles though.....when I go to check my portal I pray that it still says undetermined because I so don't want to see "Sorry, we don't want you" lol. Crazy huh?

Yes, I meant Materials Engineering. S was waitlisted at MIT
yesterday (in contrast to the 1000s who were rejected), so I think his stats should work for CP.

squidgerwinks....wow, if he was waitlisted at MIT.....that is incredible. He must be very well qualified. I hope he gets accepted at CP!

Well, he is one of the 700+ on the waitlist, but it's still a nice thing. The letter made it clear that he belongs at MIT, if space becomes available, which made him feel better about the waitlisting.

I'm with MomofMV. To be undetermined at this point seems odd. I'd call admissions asap to confirm nothing has slipped through the cracks.

Yes, how can a students who is waitlisted at MIT, not get into CP? Would you mind posting your sons stats? My son is in for Materials Engineering. he heard on Feb. 10th I think. Let us know and good luck!

Decision: Waiting to hear

General Comments: Happy to be still in the running (kind of)! Awaiting word from HYPS & UCB too.

Great job squidgerwinks. Not sure why he hasn't been accepted. The materials Engr. dept. is fairly small. Another poster said the cutoff for engineering students was a 4.1, but I saw people with less. His SAT scores are great and you know the subject tests, teacher recs and essays to not count at CP. I wonder if it is about being an international student. Good luck and I am sure he will get into a great school. Maybe UCB is a better match for him. He has such an interesting background.

OK, so the answer to why you are still undetermined is probably that you are an international applicant and that is taking them more time to figure out.

Perhaps, although we're California residents.

Rejected.......sadness. Art & Design

Oh I am so sorry Tornados - I believe you really wanted Cal Poly. I assume though you have other schools you've either been accepted at or are awaiting decisions?

Yes, I was accepted at two others. I am going online now to do housing at one of them. But, this was definitely a blow.

Must not be in God's plan for me though and I need to respect that :o) He never lets me down and always puts me on the right path.

Awwww, heck. :( I know you were hoping for Cal Poly, tornados. I like your attitude and positive spirit, though! I know you'll do well wherever you end up! :)

Thanks 2Leashes, I hope you have a great year and it was nice talking on the forum with you and everyone else.

i think you'll be waitlisted.. i got my cslo rejection letter like 2 weeks ago =(
