Application: What Do These Symbols Mean?

Did anyone else notice on the first page of their application these symbols? They are at the bottom of the page. I assume they are areas that the reader fills in and uses as a reference in his/her decion. If anyone knows what they stand for, please post.

“For office use only: CNS GPA HSPR AP TS TT ALUM”

are you doing a paper app?

No, I applied using the online Embark application.

I did not notice then

GPA stands for grade point average
AP stands for Advance placement lol

CNS is central nervous system and TT is time trial

Hm. I suggest calling the admissions office. Its the fastest and most direct way of getting an accurate answer.

it’s a way to condense your application into like one line with the purpose of increasing the ease of comparison among all applications

I think that’s the most likely one, pancakes.

Yes, I agree with Pancakes on this one. Its just so they can quickly remember your “vitals” on the application. I was just curious what some of the less familiar ones meant.

I think these are right:

hspr = high school percentile ranking
alum = if the person has family who went to UMich (or possibly donors)
