Applications Require Photo of Applicant?

There are multiple rumors that there are school that require a picture of the student to be submitted with the application. There are a lot of thing wrong with that, but I won’t get into that.

Do schools require a photo of the applicant, and if so, which schools and how much does it factor into an admission decision?

Georgetown requires a photo.

I am not aware of other top colleges that do.

A photo will be sent with your SAT score report.

As for effect, well, no university will admit a gangstar lol. :D

I took the SAT and SAT II Subject tests using a photo from when I was a sophomore, with braces and whatnot. I look different now…is that a bad thing?

You’re being paranoid. Your soph picture isn’t going to be forwarded to colleges you apply.

What photo would be sent?

^
The one the student uploaded when they registered for the SAT, I think?

I’m pretty sure Collegeboard explicitly states that your photo can only be released to a college after you have been admitted.

woops, I didn’t know but anyway. I don’t think a university will reject a candidate based on photo.

Since when did SAT registration involve uploading a photo?

I feel old.

Since January this year. I took the last test date that didn’t require it.

I do agree they shouldn’t ask for pics, but I don’t think it’ll make much of a difference. Honestly, unless you’re Asian faking your ethnicity to boost chances, I don’t think it’ll affect you in any way XD

Thanks everyone! I feel a lot better now :)

Miami FL requested a photo in their application. Not sure why thats such a big deal to you. It just helps them put a face to what they’re looking at.

I believe Brown stopped requiring photos after an outrage because they would only accept “attractive” people. That’s where Brown gets its nickname, “the most attractive ivy”, from.
