Applied early - drop a senior course???

heeeeeeeeeeyyyyy guys!

SO.

i applied ED to WashU. i have 8 courses, but most people in my school only take 7 in theri senior your, and take a free block. and this 1 course this year is REAAALLYY taking up A LOT of time, like AAA LOOOOOTTTTT, and it’s still bringing down my average. even if i drop it, the other 7 would still make it pretty rigorous

questions

 1. should i drop it?
 2. if i do, how would that affect my chances into WashU? (if i don’t get in, i’d do RD to other schools, and for that version, i can just relist the courses). like, how would i let them know?

anyyybody?

I think it really depends on on which course it is.

Ex: I know a girl who got rescinded from Caltech because she dropped math senior year.

My sister dropped Linear Algebra senior year after being admitted ED to Columbia. What she did was she sent the admissions officer an email explaining her reasons for dropping it but if her admissions was contigent on that course, she would be happy to continue. About a three weeks later she got an email back saying it was no problem and they understood the situation (she was taking the class online and the instructor basically failed at teaching).

thanks guyss!!! ohh thats a good idea, i’ll ask them =]

yankeedoodle-where did that girl end up attending this year, if you don’t mind my asking.

anyone else know anybody who has gone through a similar dilemma, or has any ideas?
