Hi,
I am will go to a prep school for 9th grade next year. My mom claims that I can’t reapply to a different school for 10th grade, because the teachers don’t want me to “leave their school” to go to an arguably better school, and that they won’t write the best recommendation letters.
Is this true?
No. Kids change schools when they have a compelling reason to do so, which can be anything from a poor social fit to a need to be closer to their coach to train for their elite sport.
But if you are starting at a school with plans to “trade up”, you aren’t giving your new school a chance and nobody will see that as a good thing.
