I heard about Avense loan, they give loans up to 60lakh USD. I am applying for Stanford. As you know it is NOT need blind. Hence, telling them that I need aid will lessen my chance of getting accepted.

Do you think its better to tell them that I don’t require aid, and take a loan instead to boost my chance?

I am pretty confident about my earnings after finishing the course (Major in CS), so I am not worried about not being able to pay the loan back.

I don’t know if it will help or not … it might to some extent but that means a loan of Rs 2.5 crores! Do you really think it’s worth it? I am in no way discouraging you but I don’t want you to make a decision in haste. Are you a US citizen? You could start earning in $$$ and pay back but if you end up working in India then? It’ll be a baggage for the rest of your life.

You should apply for aid. Is your collateral worth 3 or more crores? You will need approx. $240,000 which is approx. 15000000 rs. + some more money for personal expenses. And you never know if you’ll get a job or not because of that H1-B lottery. If you take such a large amount of loan then you have to pay approx. 3 lac per month. After taxes your salary will be much less as income tax in the US is approx. 30%. How good will be the acceptance if you cant attend your dream school? Think of it dude. If you have queries then DM me.

@Heythere7 @mak1702 Of course, I won’t be able to earn enough to pay back that amount if I work in India. But I want to work in the Silicon Valley after graduation and companies there pay a pretty good amount. But I don’t think my collateral would amount to that much. Seems like I’ll have to choose the aid option.

Thanks for your advice.

Now you’re good to go.

You cannot assume that Silicon Valley will hire you. That’s a big risk to take with that amount of money.

well if you want to take a loan get a US citizen or permanent resident to co-sign your loan and apply for loans in the US as the interest rates in India are nearly ten times the average interest rate in the US

Why would he want to take a loan of that amount? That’s a huge risk to take. He cannot assume Silicon Valley would hire him.
