Applying to the College Class of 2017 (Starting College in the Fall of 2013)

Eugene Lang doesn’t offer much aid to international students and it also depends on how much aid you might require . . . but its a nice school, very avant garde.

I think you have a very good chance. Just go for an early-decision-binding with something like Barnard or Wellesley. HUGE chances of getting awesome aid/acceptances.
Good ecs. Work on your essays/SAT! Good luck.

The problem is, I won’t be able to apply ED anywhere because I won’t have my SAT/SAT II scores by then. Also, my AS level grades suck, so I’m retaking them and I won’t have my results till January. Also, I’ve taken Wellesley off my list and replaced it with Ohio State.

@cuppycake08

I’m a sophomore at Lafayette from Pakistan and I would highly suggest you do ED (binding) here, cause from what I can tell you have an interesting personality, and I’ve seen people with not-so-stellar grades but genuine life stories get in with full aid. Let me know if you have any questions! :)

@freakozoid Can i get in Lafayette?

9 A*s 1 A in Olevel
2090 SAT with 720 CR 710 Math and 660 Writing
What are my chances in Lafayette?
I am taking SAT 2s also.
I will be retaking the SAT 1 and expect around 2200+
P.S. I need a lot of financial aid too.

I’m reluctant to apply ED to Lafayette because it’s really not one of my top choices :/

@Maaz, your grades are really good, I would say you would get in Lafayette easily, dont know about aid though.
How are your extra currics? Apply to U of Richmond :)

They are weak I think but now I cannot do much about it.
I have won a National Math Competition organised by Intel.
I have interned at a micro-credit finance organisation.
I am also a College prefect i.e School Council member.
I have been a part of fundraisers for a couple of NGOs.
I am currently the Current Affairs Head of a magazine that is totally managed by students.
I have been to several entrepreneurial competitions too but unable to win any.
I have been the vice captain of the school cricket team and play good football too.
That’s all.
What are my chances at Middlebury and Bates?

Are there any students here who are planning to pursue an accounting degree or are considering University of Notthingam? And please check out my thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pakistan/1402040-university-notthingam-other-unis-accounting.html

I am not familiar with Nottingham, but here are some American universities that could provide financial aid, if they find your application interesting:

[Need-blind admission - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Need-blind admission - Wikipedia)

You would need the SAT and usually two SAT Subject Tests in addition to TOEFL. There is very little time at this point to manage all this. You would have to move quickly and try to take the SAT tests in November, then SAT Subject in December or January.

I’ll be giving SAT-I this Novemeber InshaAllah, but why the SAT subject test? I’ll be pursuing an accounting degree isA and have already given the commerce subject exams in O levels and will now in A levels. Why would I have to give it again?

There could be many reasons for why they would want SAT Subject Tests. By the way, my son has already completed 5 AP courses. He scored 5s on four and 4 on one. He is also taking another 5 AP tests in May. However, he is still is taking the SAT Subject Tests in November too.

In American colleges you will be studying more than just accounting. They want to make sure you have the skills to handle a range of courses, including math and science for distribution requirements. I would highly recommend taking Math II SAT Subject Test in addition to a science.

Would anyone please reply ?

@maaz997 you have a very good chance; moreoverany one applying to trinity?

Maaz when do you get your A level results?

I will take my A level exams in June next year.
I got 1 A*, 2As and 1B in my internal A1 exams
should I apply ED to Middlebury or Bates?

Which engineering universities offer good financial aid ?

Umm, MIT, Cal Tech, GIT, Cornell, Princeton and Texas A&M doesn’t offer loads of aid, but it’s still a decent amount and their tuition cosy isn’t that high, so it’s affordable.

Maaz, Nobody can predict accurately whether you will get accepted or get financial aid. Bates and Middlebury are both top notch private LACs and could give financial aid to a strong applicant. Your SAT scores make you more competitive at Bates than Middlebury for financial aid, but a lot will depend on how you do on those SAT Subject Tests too.
