Applying to UC or CSU with an out-of-state AS

Hello!

Let me just say that I’m new here, so excuse me if I’m posting in the wrong place.

I’m due to graduate in Spring 2017 from a community college in Wyoming. However, I am a California resident.

Has anyone applied to UC or CSU with an out of state AS or AA? I just wanted to hear from anyone who didn’t go the TAG route or IGETC route.

I’m a wee bit intimidated by this whole process, as I’m a non-traditional student and also the first in my family to attend college.

For hopefully more informed answers regarding UC transfers, I suggest you post in the UC transfer thread.

For CSU’s, many will give priority to local transfers so completing at least 30 units at one of the local CC’s gives you an advantage (SDSU/Cal poly SLO) are 2 CSU’s that prefer local. Sorry that I cannot be more help. The key will be how your courses articulate to each schools requirements.
