So far, I’ve taken AP World History (sophomore), which I got a 2 on the exam. Junior year, I took AP US History, AP English Language, AP Spanish Language, and AP Cambridge (pilot course by Cambridge University…long explanation). My current GPA is a 3.6, but I’m super worried that it dropped to a 3.533…or something like that. I’m not sure how I did on those exams yet, but I know 4 APs classes was no joke.
Senior year, I plan on taking AP Spanish Literature, AP English Literature, AP Calculus AB, AP Gov(1/2 semester), AP Econ (1/2 semester)…(AP Gov and Econ are a graduation requirement), and AP Cambridge (it’s a two-year course). I really don’t know what to drop, or if I should even drop a class.
I’m not a super avid reader, but AP Literature has awesome books compared to English 4 Honors. Also, when am I ever going to understand Shakespeare on my own when I could have a teacher guide me through it. I’m definitely keeping Spanish and Calc, because I love Spanish and Calc is above Pre-Cal…so why not?
I’m thinking about dropping AP Cambridge because the whole exam is writing a 5,000 word essay about a topic for the whole year…Literally…there isn’t really an exam. The assignment in that class is that one essay…but obviously there is much more work that needs to go into it than I make it seem.

**tl;dr Should I drop AP English Lit or AP Cambridge? Which way will I save my GPA and maybe even raise it up? I want straight As senior year…but I also have to be realistic because of college apps.

Btw…I attend the #1 school in my state. It’s an academic magnet public high school, so my GPA is definitely inflated, but still, I cannot get lower than a 3.5…or at least I don’t want to.
