Do you watch? Does Amazon give free good movies to Prime accounts? Is the streaming speed good?

We watch Amazon Prime movies often (via our Roku box). For us, it’s a great option and we don’t feel the need to also have Netflicks or Hulu or Cable TV. That said, we are not big TV watchers.

They also have some series that are exclusive to Amazon.
I mostly watch Netflix, but Amazon also.
Still cheaper than Comcast.

The selection is better than it was, but perhaps more importantly the website is much better. It’s now possible to find something without endless clicking.

I watch netflix a lot more but I do watch some Amazon. Not so many movies as series. Speed may depend on local conditions. It is having less problems for me than netflix. You can search online lists for what to watch, best of, new titles. But I had a bunch of stuff marked for a long time and when I went to watch they were pay. I thought they were free before, so I haven’t really noted how quick that changes.

We gave up on Netflix when it got rid of a TV show I was watching in the middle of it. (Amazon carried it.) I’ve never had an issue with Amazon speed.

This just happened to me with Amazon Prime. I’ve been binge-watching the Helen Mirren series Prime Suspect. I was midway through Season 3 and when I logged on this morning to watch the next episode, it was no longer in my watchlist and was now a pay series. I called Amazon to ask what happened and they said that sometimes their shows go “out of contract” and are no longer free. I don’t think I’ll be renewing my Prime subscription, especially since they’re raising the price to $99.

I can’t hold losing a series against a provider. They contract for rights and those have a time limit. Someone is going to be affected just because there’s a time limit.

That said, I find myself watching Netflix much more than Amazon Prime.

We have Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime that we can use with our TV’s Roku device. I know this is silly, but I tend to avoid using Amazon Prime with TV because I’m always afraid I’ll push button on remote selecting one of the premium movies on Amazon that we’ll get charged extra for on credit card that is attached to Amazon Prime service. We use the Amazon Prime more for buying goods and getting them delivered to us at home.

Lizard - we only have Amazon Prime which we watch on our Roku. I don’t think that we are uber careful but we’ve never accidentally hit the wrong button and ordered a premium movie.

So far, we’ve been happy with the offerings on Amazon Prime and haven’t looked at Netflix or Hulu Plus. Maybe if we spent more time watching, we’d feel the need to look at other options.

Have new roku device, love the streaming speed.
Watching more Netflix movies than amazon prime, but lately addicted to amazon prime " lark rise to candleford" bbc production ( 4 seasons )

I just cancelled Netflix last week and keep Amazon Prime because I can use Amazon free 2 day shipping, Kindle books and music.

I had Netflix for almost 2 years. It seems Netflix has a little bit better movie selection and it’s a little bit easier to search. On the other hand AP has better movies to buy once in a while.

To avoid hitting the wrong button for non-prime movies on AP, there is an option to set up on Amazon.

We have been considering dropping netflix and just keeping amazon prime. A couple of times recently netflix has not loaded at all while amazon was fine.

We watch through a Roku and never set up bring able to purchase movies directly from the tv. If we want to buy something we have to go through out amazon acct but it is instantaneous.
