Are science fair projects mandatory for all AP science classes?

I was just wondering if you have to do a science fair porject in AP science classes, specifically AP physics B? I might take it next year and I was wondering if you have to do a project. The little handbook they give you with all the classes in it and their description says that it is mandatory but last year in Adv. chemistry we didnt do any project and the program of studies book said it was required…so…? I hope it isnt mandatory.

Anybody know?

…

It’s not mandatory for the AP course, but it may just be mandatory at your school. Check with the teacher.

Oh! good because I doubt that our school makes you do the project.

Havent the schools already started the projects and stuff? Because the physics class at our school hasnt started any projects I dont think? I know IB physics has to do the group 4 thing… but other than that I dont think so…

It has nothing to do with the title of the class. It depends on the school. I think some 1st semester science classes in my school were required to do science fair projects, but the 2nd semester classes didn’t have to because the science fairs would have been taking place 2nd semester.

We don’t even have a science fair at my school…So, no, AP science classes definitely don’t have to do science fair projects!

Nope, thats optional buddy

It might just be specific to your school. Is this “manual” created by the College Board or an instructional booklet by your school?
