Bay Path College bombards me with mail/emails. There was a four month period during my Junior Year where I received physical/snail mail from them every single day.

Coach K is one of the nicest people I have ever met. If you hate Duke basketball, don’t hate it because of him…plus…he’s led our men’s Olympic basketball team to gold in Beijing and London. He is so incredibly passionate about basketball, and all the NBA players on the Olympic team recognize that, even if they didn’t go to Duke.

Any school in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and/or South Carolina. I’m from NJ and I think those are all scum states, so I’m gonna think that their schools are automatically inferior. Oh and **** Bob Jones University.

Any school in Alaska, considering it generally is THE single most undesirable state in America.

I’m not too fond of any HBCU, being black myself. I see those schools as an absolute last resort, on the same level of any community college.

Johns Hopkins University because they’re incredibly pretentious and overrated. Also, my dream school is Loyola University Maryland.

Reading this thread has also made me realize that I do not at all like UofMichigan. If people from your high school’s graduating class want to cut off contact with you just because the school they go to is better than yours? Wow, what a bunch of worthless ****s. Quite a few people in the grade below mine are obsessed with it just because their siblings go there as well. Michigan is probably the most overrated and pretentious school in the United States.

I don’t really dislike/hate any schools, but I’m forever getting either big information packets and tiny postcards from random small schools that I’ve never heard of and will never appply to.

I actually ended up applying to the first school that had ever sent me mail my Sophomore year. A really tiny LAC in northern Vermont. I had forgotten about it for two years but suddenly came across it in a college search and decided that I actually liked it a lot. I visited it and everything. I think they only reached out to me once through mail, and it was just a tiny postcard with a picture of the college on the front.

UCLA:
Home of people that will laugh at you when you say you’re a CSUS student, like you are not worthy. I actually only applied to UC Berkeley and CSUS and got rejected from Berkeley’s EECS major.
I don’t really hate UC Berkeley or HYSP, but some lower tier UCs that try to make fun of me.

It’s just that these schools aren’t necessarily the hardest to get into (relative to the top schools), yet you can make fun of someone that personally decided that the local school is best for him for many reasons before considering any of the other UC’s.

Yeah preamble, scum states because those are the most racist states, and these are the states that are most likely to secede (along with WV; I actually want those states to secede).

@lbad - There are racists everywhere. And it may sound politically incorrect, but the racism of a student body does not render a school inferior in its academics, necessarily (though I suppose you could argue that racism is the child of ignorance, and ignorance goes hand in hand with stupidity, but that is a broad generalization) – many parts of the South are diverse and culturally diverse and liberal.

BTW, West Virginia was formed because it did not support the values of Virginia in terms of maintaining slavery. WV was founded by abolitionists.

And all of the original colonies and later, states, came to existence through the systematic rape, slaughter, and general genocide of entire tribes and races. Do not be so quick to judge an entire state, its people, and its institutions on its history, and this is coming from someone who was born and raised in Massachusetts - one of the bluest, most bleed heart liberal states out there.
