I really like U of T. It is my dream school I think. I also plan on applying to Mcgill and UBC in Canada. Outside of Canada, I plan to apply to Cambridge or Oxford and Univerity of Tokyo PEAK program.
Here are my stats:
I am doing the IB Diploma. My classes and scores are: English HL 6, Global politics HL 7, Biology HL 6, Math SL 5, Chemistry SL 6, Spanish SL intro 6
Am I aiming too high? Will my bad grades from 9 and 10 hurt my chances? I also applied to a few “safety” schools but they are all not that bad of schools.
You don’t have the marks for Cambridge or Oxford- Cambridge wants 40-42 overall; Oxford wants at least a 38; both typically want a 7 in a subject to the course you want to study.
The Canadian schools you listed are realistic. Canadian schools don’t look at 9th and 10th grades at all.
As a Canadian, I can confirm they usually only look at grade 12 classes but may look at grade 11. Since you’re doing the IB diploma you’ll pretty much only have IB grades looked at which sound great so good for you! As long as you have extracurriculars or something else that stands out you should be good!
The Canadian schools are possible but reaches at IB 36 (depends on the subject you apply for).
Oxford/Cambridge are out of reach.
You need one match school before your safeties - look into Mount Allison or Simon Fraser.
