Are these Universities good enough for an International seeking low contribution? [3.78 GPA, rank 1]

No one will respond until after you apply.

You are psyching yourself out.

Get your apps in - you will get into some schools - the regional publics like Southern Miss. You will have to hope they somehow meet need.

The sooner you stop asking questions, freaking out at no responses (most don’t respond timely), and get apps done.

You can breathe. Because after you breathe, you need to apply to other countries because it doesn’t seem like you realize it yet, but the US likely isn’t going to happen for you.

I hope it does - but hope is not a plan.

Good luck.

No one else needs a response.

You need to do apps - that’s it.

This! @Ihopethebest - you’re agonizing over schools that all represent very low probability admits. You’ve already received multiple pieces of advice about which schools to apply to EA to slightly improve your chances. None of these options are a sure thing, and it’s important to accept that reality and move from deliberation to action. And yes, you should also have a solid Plan B in your home country.

Order of priority:

Apply EA to Southern Miss, Minot State, UMN Morris, University Central Arkansas AND their honors colleges + Oberlin, Bard, Reed, St Olaf or whatever college you ALREADY know has EA and meets need for internationals even if they’re need aware. DO NOT RESEARCH ANYMORE. Just do the ones you already have information about.
Use these^ to iron out wrinkles.
Get those sent by October 29.

October 30, 31+Nov1=
Finish application and apply ED to Amherst.

In November
Register for the December SAT and ask for your scores to be sent to 4 universities, mostly public ones because they often don’t accept self reported scores.

Complete your RD application and Johnson application for Washington&Lee by Dec 1.

Also, no one would respond from Friday afternoon until Monday morning. Just do what you need to do for the colleges where you do have answers for.

deleted, not relevant now that the above is corrected

You’re misunderstanding the process. You don’t email each school to ask for the CSS form. So of course they will not respond, especially if you haven’t applied there yet.

You need to complete the CSS Profile through the College Board’s website. You will have the option to add schools to your application and select which ones receive it.

2 from all of Asia… I imagine the competition there is going to be tough. Reed currently has about 75 students from Asia. Geographic Origins of Students - Institutional Research - Reed College

Meets need too.

Reed meets 100 percent of the demonstrated need of all admitted students, international or domestic, for all four years

Did you mean October instead of November for some of your recommendations?

Thank you!
Will correct to avoid confusing poor OP who’s already overwhelmed…

Umn morris will not cover my need it about 20k USD, I have lot of time to apply to minot.

Umn morris is coming about 20k sadly and there is alot of time to apply to minot.

I am scared I’ll miss out on early action of some of these colleges.

I forgot to organise based on early action priority, I have to go back to the beginning. This is getting so scary.

Again I might be asking too much. But please if you know any more early action let me know..

Look at the Honors program and freshman scholarships deadlines for Minot, not their final deadline.

Cross out UMN Morris and focus on the others.

Get those done. If you’re done with everything before November 1 we’ll suggest more. For now focus on what colleges you’ve ALREADY researched.

Sometimes it makes sense to get the easy apps like Minot out of the way first, so you have a tangible accomplishment.

Also, at schools like that, if there is hidden aid, it may be first come first serve.

Get a few easy ones done so that you can say you’ve accomplished something.

Then you’ll feel better.

You and every other 2026 applicant. They are very busy. They won’t open your FA files until THEY are ready. They have deadlines, but they aren’t sitting around waiting for your application.

Please clarify why you emailed the universities re: the CSS form. As noted above, this form is through the College Board, and is submitted through the College Board website…online…to your colleges that require the CSS Profile.

I think he did that because other forms for internationals can be obtained only from the colleges themselves.

OP, here is the link for the CSS Profile. It is very complicated. Can your parents help you with it or do it instead of you? Also, some schools don’t need it, and some have a later deadline for financial aid forms than for the application forms. So just check for the few colleges you are applying for for Nov 1 to see the dates they need the CSS profile for – or if they even need it at all.

CSS Profile Home – CSS Profile | College Board

sorry not CSS, I meant to say ISFAA.

Everything is coming with a twist, some don’t do ISFAA forms, some have really cliche scholarships. I am down to 0.

I am so overwhelmed, I don’t know what to even ask for.

OP – do you have you application ready for your ED school? If not, focus on that for today. It will need the most essays and the most complex financials.

You have mentioned Brown, Amherst, Bowdoin, Washington and Lee, and Reed.

In order of likelihood of acceptance, I think it is Reed and W&L, then Amherst and Bowdoin, and then Brown. (Note that the likelihood of acceptance to these last three is quite low).

But Reed isn’t need blind and W&L has ED2, so you don’t need to ED1 to it. So your real choice for ED1 is Amherst, Bowdoin and Brown. Brown is more selective than either Amherst or Bowdoin based on SAT scores, so I would choose one of these other two and get that done. The other two are also still Test Optional, and Brown is not. So I would recommend Amherst or Bowdoin, unless you want to take your chance at Reed for ED, which is more likely for admissions based on stats but not need-blind.

Once Amherst or Bowdoin is finished and submitted, you can work on EA applications.
Public schools don’t require as much work as the private schools, so even if there is a Nov 1 deadline for EA, I suggest pushing that off for a few days and getting the ED application done today if possible.
