400 or so posts ago you said you have $12k for your first year and I said no you don’t, because almost all of that is going to be used up for applications, visas and travel before you even set foot in the USA. I still think that’s true.

I really did not know that there would be this much involved. No one guided me before.

Not faked, I wasn’t talking about 9th grade marks I was about 11th grade, they are managed by a state board who does not conduct rigorous exams and repeats questions.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. Our confusion arose from your use of the word “rigged.” Perhaps you attach a different meaning to that word, but to us “rigged” implies some kind of unfair manipulation or that the exams were set up to produce a predetermined outcome, etc.

From your explanation, it sounds like what you meant was that the exams were not rigorous that year. That’s very different, and perfectly ok. You will be evaluated in the context of what academic options and standards were available to you at your school.

I applied to Amherst (ED not signed) and filled the part 1, but not the part 2 yet. I want to make some changes like opting in for the SAT score ( my board exam system is weak So I think SAT is a must) and changing my honors (just got awarded an honor from collegeboard) Could I just abandon my application in coalition app and fill in the common app?

I mean it is indeed rigged. I’ll be honest, it Is unfair to get the same questions every year even if it’s the government. I saw an educational counselor telling that if I wanted to apply abroad I should have taken a central board than state.

OP- fantastic. You’ve gotten so much done which is a tribute to your tenacity and time management skills!

Take a deep breath and reboot. You need to find an affordable backup which is NOT in the USA if you want to continue your education next year. Best case- you get admitted with the right aid package, your visa goes through with no issues, you buy a winter coat and you’re off to the US in August. Hooray! But a realistic scenario is also you get admitted without the aid you need, or you get admitted but can’t get a visa, or you don’t get admitted. You have so much going for you- please make sure you have a backup plan. And the time to focus on that is NOW. You’ve gotten over the big hurdle and gotten so many applications done. Now do yourself a favor and focus on Plan B.

It’s not rigged… It’s just standardized and not rigorous but that’s alright.

You already sent part 1 so you can’t switch platforms but you can modify it till Nov1. Don’t submit the 1430 to Amherst. Also, they evaluate you based on your academic environment. The fact you didn’t take central boards won’t matter.

Half the colleges on your list have honors programs/colleges. Their students get the best scholarships (many just for them). Dig into the websites.

iit won’t meet budget. Hobart might.

Nov 2 be ready to pivot and switch to European options.
