Are these Universities good enough for an International seeking low contribution? [3.78 GPA, rank 1]

@MYOS1634 most of the colleges except one in my list are auto-admit to honors. I rechecked with coalition app still there is no way to modify amherst part 1. Do you know anything I could do?

Contact Amherst…ask them. Maybe they will have an idea.

You just look on the Amherst international admissions website, find the the email for the international admission representative, and email them.

Dear Mr./Ms. Z
My name is YZ and I’m an applicant for Fall 2026. I submitted my application, Part 1, on (October 26) and I’d like to modify these two elements: … And …
Is that possible? If so, how should I proceed about it?
Thank you.
Sincerely, YZ

no reply I have mailed them already.

You may need to call them. The deadline is too close to wait for an email reply.

Agreed!

OP—they will probably close by 5 pm, which is an hour from now if you are thinking of calling them today .

@MYOS1634 should I submit 1430 sat to Case Western on EA or not or wait for rd?

No. Wait for RD.

https://www.buffalo.edu/honors/admissions/apply.html

You need to fill out an interest form

Only if admitted EA (likely to be done in December)

Okay I mailed them to change my admission plan and left a voice note too.

No we didn’t submit it. No reason to unless somehow you know that University offers something others don’t..IMHO.

oooooh - i remember we had a private chat and it came up. OK - glad you’re back. Maybe you didn’t.

OP is looking for a school at $10-12K, doesn’t have the highest stats and many of the cheapest require the WES.

Any thoughts?

How is Wooster working out?

Applied wooster EA, do you think I should change plans to ra?, let me hope the best.

At least a couple of the WES-requiring schools had later deadlines, even for merit, so the OP should be able to wait until after EA results come in to get WES in and apply to them. That’s what I found —did you find differently? I checked Minot and TAMUI, but would appreciate a second set of eyes.

I think TAMUI with merit (which may be automatic/guaranteed) might be as close to a safety as the OP will find. Kudos to you for finding it!!!

Thank you so much, I’ll look.

Take a look at their merit page. Some schools have automatic merit based on stats in that everyone who meets those stats gets the merit automatically. I would suggest reading their web page carefully and possibly contacting them to see if that is the situation there. Also see if it is for one year or all four years. If for all four years, I think you will get in and it might be financially feasible.

I haven’t seen a lot of these but a couple of the ones I’ve seen don’t include internationals in the auto merit calculations so also something to check. (These are not schools on the list here but others on the list may work the same way.)
