Are these Universities good enough for an International seeking low contribution? [3.78 GPA, rank 1]

I’m checking New Mexico Highlands U - I think it’s a bit too much but I can’t find a COA.

But schools like W New Mexico or Southern Oregon or Lewis & Clark State - I don’t know the cost (haven’t looked) but these are the kind to find. Lewis & Clark, tuition, if i’m reading correctly, will be $12,000. There’s lots of schools like these - I know not cheap enough but maybe there’s something hidden.

I wouldn’t worry about it . The colleges will see that and think that they worked together — that won’t reflect badly on you.

Wow the campus is so beautiful, I will apply as soon as I get my SAT scores.

Your talking about both the Lewis and Clark’s right? one being the state, other being the plain.

It’s Lewis & Clark State in Idaho, not Lewis & Clark, which is a small LAC in Oregon.

It’s my bad - it’s Lewis-Clark, not Lewis & Clark. I didn’t realize it had a different name - but this is the public, low cost one.

Lewis-Clark State College,

Look at Wayne State College in Nebraska. I cannot find intl or OOS tuition so it might be only one.

It’s $18,107 for tuition, room and board.

Scholarships - there’s $2K for international but there’s also $5K for Presidential. I can’t tell what is combinable or not. You might inquire.

Thank you so so much, I cannot appreciate your efforts enough! I will check them out.

Be aware that there is a Wayne state college and also a Wayne state university and they are not the same.

I am applying for a local scholarship selection, which say they will fund my tuition fee to either Syracuse university or Muhlenberg college. Did I do the right choice choosing Syracuse?

My father increased my budget to 18.5k USD per annum, I hope it goes well.

I think I might miss out on the close proffesor relationships and the ability to connect with peers if I chose Syracuse.

I shall keep note

Thank you

I have so much going on right now, no one to talk to, my essays are barely complete, fear of failure. Everything seems intertwined. I have fell into multiple pitfalls.

Strange turns of phrases aren’t uncommon in recommendations from abroad, especially if the teachers have another language than English as their usual language.

Your teacher cannot update the letter. He or she needs to write an optional update - the optional letter is an update - and you need to provide them with information about what you learned in their class, specific moments that clicked, when you helped another classmate understand something, when you discussed this or that concept, or whatever. Then they pick from everything you listed or write and build their updated letter from there and upload it to CommonApp as the “optional” letter thet is often uploaded after first quarter or first semester (which is respectively, after ED deadlines and after RD deadlines). Your GC definitely has that option. You can also not link to the letter when you send your applications and link to another one. You cannot retrieve the letter already sent. You cannot send letters to 53 colleges, it has to be done from the teacher’s account through CommonApp.
Typically the whole process is done over two years. That’s why I’m concerned you applied to ao many colleges so quickly, clearly without having a handle on the whole process and because you’ve applied everywhere you could you’ve burned all bridges so you will be stuck next year if it doesn’t work this year.
For now, work on writing information that’s useful: grades or academic results in the relevant subjects, key learning moments for you and anecdotes from that class, how the teacher helped you learn, whatever.

Your odds are likely higher at Muhlenberg than Syracuse considering your financial need but you applied to Syracuse already well what’s done is done.

You already got into some colleges and it seems very likely that if you apply, you will get into Minot State, which should be affordable or close to affordable at just over $20k COA.

So please try not to stress so much. It isn’t going to help you.

You can get these things at almost all universities if you set your mind to it. It is mostly up to the student to make these things happen, not the college itself .

Minot state require WES evaluation… I have emailed them, I shall wait for reply.

Double check, but I think that they also have a later deadline than many other colleges, so they can likely be a later option if you don’t like the choices you have once you hear from all the others. But please check if you would still be eligible for any scholarships if you apply by their later deadline.

No. You need to stop this cycle of negative thinking.

Focus on finishing your applications. Any affordable option in the US is a fine choice. Period, full stop. There are thousands of happy Syracuse grads who can tell you about their relationships with professors, the fellowships they won thanks to a faculty members intervention, the terrific research lab they ended up in because of their mentor.

You keep falling into the same hole (but with a different name each time). FOCUS. Don’t even bother comparing school A to school B. Once you’ve applied- forget about it. You’ll have ample time to choose once your options are in front of you.

Muhlenberg is great. Syracuse is great. They’re all great. Just push forward until your applications are done.
