Are we allowed to register for 2 schools?

Are we allowed to register for 2 schools? Then cancel one out later?

Generally no. If they find you doing that, you could lose both spots.

Ok, thanks for your reply.

This incenses me. SIR stands for Statement of Intent to Register, not Statement of I’m too much of an immature coward to make a choice so I’m going to double-deposit and mess up other people’s hopes and dreams. Capeesh?

um…this isn’t for me, but thanks for your opinion.

However, I don’t think a person who deposits into two schools is considered to be an “immature coward”. I had to decide between Harvard and Princeton and that wasn’t an easy decision, although I chose Harvard in the end. :)

potentially stealing or delaying a poor waitlist hopeful’s spot because you’re not able to make a choice you should have been making months prior should be considered immature.

(not…you the global you)

ya i don’t like this concept either. I know two people who submitted enrollment deposits at UNC-CH and probably are not going there. I am waitlisted there and that just makes me angry.

I do agree. Even though the decisions might be hard, they should choose. I was also waitlisted at my number one school so yeah…

I don’t understand why you would do this. You do have to choose where you’re going eventually, so what’s the point of potentially taking up someone’s spot AND wasting your enrollment deposit?
