Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!

Nevermind, I do remember that (I’m TERRIBLE with names…). That was a few years back, I wonder why it came up in the news today. There were no charges ever pursued so I’m not sure why it’s making news again…

Yes, it’s sick though.

ETA: I misread what you said.

Sigh, it sickens me that these ***** continue to get away with this.

The article says the football player said it was consensual. Is there any other evidence to show it wasn’t or are people just assuming the woman is telling the truth?

The rape kit was consistent with non-consensual intercourse. There were multiple reports of victim intimidation, with no intervention by either the police or the administration, after which she declined to cooperate with the police. The police then ended the investigation.

What’s sick to me is that he jokes about thinking of women on the field at a natl press conference when he has been accused of rape. It speaks to his feeling of invincibility. And, yes, I find her story credible.

Penn State/UMich game was quite a game. Happy it turned out in our favor. Uplifting for the young men on the team. On another note, hubby and I just finished watching the Frontline special “League of Denial, The NFL Concussion Crisis” On Demand. Eye opening and sad for former and present players. Makes me wish I wasn’t such a big football fan.

I saw that, too. So sad.

Sit down stanford!

razor, I don’t know what article you’re reading but every article I’ve read goes like this: the night before, he tried to kiss her and she said no. That night, she went to the bathroom and he followed her. She pushed him away and he pushed her back into the bathroom and tried to pull down her leggins. She left the bathroom and he grabbed her and pushed her into an open bedroom, pushed her on the bed, and proceeded to rape her. She went to the hospital where they documented bruises on her arms and vaginal tearing. She was hysterical and reported it to the hospital, her RA, the campus police, and Ann Arbor police.

People on the team then proceeded to threaten her- with one even saying he’d rape her if she pressed charges. The players themselves ended up reporting the threats directly to the police who proceeded to make sure the woman was OK but do nothing else.

Is that a surprise in Big10landia? Happens even outside Happy Valley!

i was reading the article linked above and it did not have all those details and it may just be a blog.

Seems strange. There has to be a prosecutor who would take that case if it is as has beem presented.

Joe Flaccos contract is looking pretty bad at this point

It seals the Ray Lewis legend - Balt with Lewis is superbowl team, without is a dud.

Lord knows I take my football very seriously, but I could never imagine cheering when my own QB is injured during a game as Texans (so-called) fans did today when Matt Schaub went down with a foot injury. Yes, losing sucks, but come on!

I currently have every finger and toe crossed that my Titans win today against the Seahawks.

Lewis played poorly last year and the Baltimore D was ranked in the bottom 3-4 of the NFL.

Ducks win.
Badgers win.
Stanford loses.
Michigan loses.
Packers win.
Both of my fantasy football teams win.
BAM. A good football day.

Except that, yes, I’ve heard that that documentary is quite damning, and I suspect it will indeed make me feel bad that I love football so much.

Razorsharp. I’m a Michigan fan. I’d love to think that nothing happened. I’d love to think that the prosecutor would have brought him to trial if anything did. But reading up on it, I am not convinced. Believe me, I’d like to be.

SplashMom, I agree completely. Applauding an injury is just classless.

Brady to thompkins clutch game winner

I can remember when Schaub was amazing. People should never clap at someone’s injury.

Brady is amazing. He finally found someone who wanted to catch one of his passes.

Poor Amendola. I hate seeing him get hurt over and over.

razorsharp, that’s so true. But when someone finally decided to hang onto one of his passes, they sure chose the right time.
