Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!

“Flipper Anderson was a LA Ram. We Giant fans remember him”

I do. Was sitting in the end zone at the stadium when he ran threw the end zone to the locker room after catching the game winning TD in OT in 1989 playoffs.

Reading West Coast Bias in a discussion about the integrity of the rankings, and especially the preseason rankings that rig the “game” is … interesting.

Are you really “disproving” my statement about the schedules in the ACC and the SEC?

Please tell me that you actually checked the schedules of FSU and Clemson and compared it to Oregon or Stanford for that matter. Take away the massively overrated Georgia and what have you left on the schedule of Clemson. What did you have on FSU schedule?

Now, go back to the PAC-12 schedules for the sake of comparison. Is there anything in the ACC that compares to games between Oregon and Stanford plus games against the Arizona and Washington teams and the two SoCal teams?

Get real!

Why are you arguing over who has the “honor” of getting crushed by Alabama in the BCS championship game? Seems like the team that gets “robbed” but not embarrassed would be better off.

I guess st. Louis isnt too happy this morning.

If there was every a game the Rams should have one it was the one last night. The Rams’s defensive ends were amazing. The Seahawks need to find an offensive line that can block pretty soon or they will not win the division. I suspect if Brandford had not been out for the season, the Rams would have won easily.

The Seahawks should have won easily, instead they won messily.

I have to chip in regarding my Raiders. Much better than I thought they would be. New coaches and GM seem to have things moving in the right direction.

Always nice to beat Pittsburgh even though they seem to have fallen out of the top echelon of teams very quickly. Did the Steelers just get old?

The Steelers’ problem is primarily their pathetic offensive line. Roethlisburger is running for his life on every play.

^^

Big Ben should try the Cowboys for a few downs. That is … running for your life on each play. And it will not get easier for Romo. Dallas just lost Waters.

Dallas at least has a nice collection of receivers and running backs.

Pittsburgh… not so much.

Roethlisburger has been sacked 26 times in 7 games. Romo - 16 times in 8 games.

Pittsburgh has gotten old. I wonder if the line problems don’t relate in part to the way Rapelisberger holds the ball and holds the ball. Offenses are generally based on timing and linemen have the same clock in their heads that QB’s do. With the Steelers, they never really know how long to hold a block. And they can’t predict where the QB will move so they can’t encourage a rusher to move in one direction only. I see sacks where the lineman has pushed the end rusher to the outside and the guy then has time to come back around because the QB is still trying to make a play. And I’ve seen sacks where the interior rusher can get through because the spacing has increased with the passing seconds and he can break toward where the QB is.

I feel the Steelers have lost some of their famed touch in choosing talent. The choices made in signing of free agents has left the OL ineffective and not at full strength.

Are you going to watch NFL or college tonight?

Bengals-Dolphins is a pretty solid Thursday night game.
College gives us Arizona State at Washington State. How cool is this?A Devil’s Night football game in Pullman should be an absolute blast, given the amount of beer Wazzu students can consume.

Tonight I’m watching on ESPN my alma mater, USF, at Houston. We’re really off this year and ‘rebuilding’. USF’s starting QB tonight, a true freshman, is getting his first start after team has gone through 3 other QBs already this season. Between Tampa Bay Bucs and USF Bulls, it’s been a rough football season so far in Tampa. Of course, watch the Bucs beat Seattle next game after Bucs losing all games to date this season!

Crazy football stuff happening in Florida isn’t there?
Bucs coaches are bullying Mccoy for helping somebody up?

Pelini is seen smoking weed?

Dolphins win but lose with all their locker room stuff exploding around Incognito and Martin.

Taggart will turn the Bulls team around. USF recruiting had missed on too many players. OL needs to be the #1 priority. Those guys have slow feet.
And Couldn’t believe Davis got called for offensive interference.

Flipping to channels and stumbling on Illinois vs PSU. I am not sure what is more displeasing and out of place … listening to that annoying yapping of the commentator or seeing PSU playing football in this decade. Both should have been off the air!

No flipping channels after 8 tonight at our home; our TV will be locked on Miami at FSU game.

As thrilled as I am that MSU is beating Michigan (and many of Michigan’s plays have been down-right embarrassing), I am also sad because OSU is going to slaughter Michigan and that makes me very, very sad.

lizard,
Hear, Hear!

I saw a clip on TV of a game between Sacred Heart and Monmouth. The Sacred Heart receive caught the ball and was running down the field only to have the ball stripped from him. Instead of sitting on his rear end on the field, he got up and chased the player with the ball and stripped it from that player. After stripping the ball out, he picked it up and ran for a touchdown to win the game. Pretty crazy.

Razors harp, what a great story. I love that kind of perseverance.
