Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!

As a Niners (adopted) and Patriots (natural born) fan, have to admit that things have been looking pretty good lately. No complaints here! Feel sorry for you Jet fans out there, as I think it’s going to be a long year. Not so for you Raiders fans. I HATE THE RAIDERS. Usually feel the same about Dallas, but I’ve got Tony Romo as my QB in my fantasy league (alas, he was the best available at that point in the draft), so I’m kinda forced to root for Dallas this year. How 'bout 'dem Cowboys!!!

Oh, DGD, I’m so sorry about Romo. Nevertheless, yes, how 'bout 'dem Cowboys?!?

Akk! I thought by the title you were talking about real football. j/k

Yay Spain! Yay Belgium! Hoping for a USMNT victory over Costa Rica tonight.

Back to your regular programming.

Where I live, if your D tried to eat brats, she’d be arrested, regardless of how badly behaved the children were.

My poor Jets. I don’t know which they need more, a new QB or a new coach. The good news is that if Gino Smith doesn’t do well, we’ll get both next year. I hope Smith succeeds, but he looks to have a fairly steep learning curve.

It’s going to be an interesting year…

I think both the Ravens and Steelers will struggle to reach .500. Cincy? Eh… they have to prove it.

The Rex Ryan watch has started. Over/under is 6 weeks.

Indy will come back to earth a bit.

Houston has a history of fading at the end of the season.

Patriots will win 11-12, but with something like 15 rookies on the team, and a Welker clone who can’t stay healthy, I don’t think they can win the Super Bowl.

That leaves Denver in the AFC. Welker led the league in drops last year, but I still wish he was still on the Patriots. Why, Bill, why?

NFC is a four-way battle between Atlanta, Seattle, SF, and Green Bay. I’m hoping Atlanta does well because I have Matt Ryan and Julio Jones on my fantasy team.

When the girls were little, I made green and gold cupcakes all season long for my daughter’s classes, and sometimes the entire school (small town). It started in the mid 90’s just as the Pack was starting to look good, and the teachers were superstitious, so I had to keep on baking after my first offering.

I had an assembly line of green, gold and white batters, and made marbled cupcakes. Though I was happy when they finally made it into the post season, I was really sick of cupcakes.

While my daughter was home over the summer she picked up jars of green and gold gel to bring back to Alaska. I didn’t ask how much she pays to have bratwurst mailed in to her village!

Another Packer fan here!!

When we moved from Wisconsin to Eugene, OR, where everything is green and yellow for the Ducks, my kids asked why there were so many Packers fans in Oregon, lol.

Also watching the Eagles closely to see how ex-Ducks coach Chip Kelly does in Philadelphia.

AND I kicked booty last night in my Fantasy Football game because I have Peyton Manning. The booty that got kicked is my husband’s, so even better!

Woohoo!! Football season!

I don’t think Geno Smith is ready for the NFL at this point. He’s likely to get run over…especially if they tell him not to run and improvise. We’ll see shortly.

Based on pre-season, Matt Simms looked absolutely terrific. I’m interested to see what happens if he gets a chance in regular season. (Kurt Warner type, possibly).

Romo is a terrific fantasy QB. As a reality QB–especially at crunch time–not so much.

In my league Manning scored 63.5 points. It was a ridiculous performance.

I have Welker on my team, he got a lot of points too.

Hope RGIII has a healthy year!

HTTR!

… also, hope for successful and healthy seasons for the few W&M alums in the NFL.

I picked up RGIII as my 2nd qb last year and rode him to third place in my league.

He is so much fun to watch… I really hope he can stay healthy.

Romo just bought a large lot in my neighborhood and appears to be prepping it for a build. I have these concerns about crazies coming into the neighborhood after a bad loss and raising hell.

Yeah, I’m a worrier, and sometimes my DH thinks I’m a total psycho. :o

^ That’s why Brady put in a moat, with sharks.

'Nother Gints fan here! Not sure how they’ll do this year, though I’m always hoping to see little Manning follow in the paths of big bro!

And thanking my stars I was not brought up a Jets fan! (Feeling for you guys, really!)

Not the same sport, garland, but I was brought up a Cubs fan. do you feel for me, too?

Not only am I a Jets fan, but also a Mets fan. That should count for even more.

Go Dodgers. I just LOVE me some Clayton Kershaw.

(and what is this “professional football” you speak of??)

As a Raiders fan I’m more interested in Teddy Bridgewater than the season.

I love football though, and love even more what is going on in the NFL right now at the qb position. It’s allot of fun to watch RGIII, Cam, 49ers, and Seattle to some extent.

My prediction is the 49ers beating the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

D1’s alma mater, Syracuse, is playing Northwestern U. today, so we decided to get last minute tickets and go to support Syracuse. Unfortunately, H just told me that Syracuse is a 16 point underdog. Kinda wish we hadn’t gotten tickets, but, oh well. First NCAA game I’ve been to since we went to one in the Carrier Dome on Parent’s Weekend when she was a junior.
