Are You Ready For Some Football!!!!

At the end of the day Franklin is not going to the place with the better graduation rate. He’s going to follow the money and where he thinks he has the best chance to win. No matter how altruistic you think he is, he is going to do what is best for him.

College coaches go where the money is…coaches always keep their suitcases handy. Getting paid $1.5 million/year is great, but getting offered $3-4 million/year up the road is hard to turn down.

He said that as a joke. He apologized and got his butt kicked by his AD.
Vandy beat Florida, Georgia and Tennessee this year and finished the season ranked 24/23 in the polls. It is a program on a rapid climb, thanks to Franklin.

Bobby Petrino probably still has a good-looking coaches wife policy…not a joke with him.

When my kids played Little League, some coaches had several notations when ranking kids for the draft. They were judged on batting, catching, throwing, speed and GLM – “good-looking mom.” All things being equal, the GLM kid gets picked first.

I coached little league and a good looking mom definitely took a back seat to a parent who didn’t always second guess the coach.

Well incredibly James Franklin is leaving that football factory Vanderbilt for Happy Valley. More money and a more prestigious program, who in their right mind would do that? Only 99% of college coaches.

If it’s true… It probably is, but he has not told his Vandy players OR his AD, which is extremely low-class, in the opinion of all the Vandy fans and players. There has been no official announcement, which is very odd. Twitter and the forums are blowing up. If CJF has really handled it this way, you are welcome to him, because I have lost all respect.

Nashville v Happy Valley. Oh fun. I’m grateful for what he has built at Vanderbilt and that will continue, but if this is an indication of his character, well… he belongs at Penn State.

PSU players have just been told that nothing is official yet.

“Many details to be sorted out in the next 48 hours”, so maybe not a done deal yet.

Gruden is taking over as HC of the Redskins. No, not that Gruden -the other Gruden, Jay. Good luck to him - at least he is starting with a halfway-decent QB, unlike the poor sap who takes the Cleveland job.

Browns are going to draft Johnny Football. If I was an innovative offensive coach, I’d rather hitch my future success with Johnny Football than the brand that is Robert Griffin III.

I think Cleveland should take Johnny Football over Bridgewater or the UCF QB. I think he will be a great NFL QB although I worry that if he runs like he did in college, the NFL guys will knock his lights out pretty quickly. NFL guys hit a lot harder and they don’t miss like some of the college players did this year.

Everything in the NFL is quicker and faster than in college play…I think that is the first thing college athletes coming into pros find out.

The great ones adjust accordingly and just keep working to get better. Not even his critics question Manziel’s work ethic.

Really?

Its 47f at 8pm! It hasn’t rained all day ( i barely have turned on my wipers, & Ive been outside most of the day.
Doesn’t it rain in NOLA?

[Saints put Seahawks logo on New Orleans practice field - NFL.com](Saints put Seahawks logo on New Orleans practice field)

Cute.

Forecast for kickoff of the Patriots/Colts game:

52 degrees.
100% chance of rain
22 mph wind

This weather may give the Pats their best chance, because it will negate the passing game to some extent, and the Pats have a much better ground game.

I’m not getting my hopes up though.

So much weather.

Happy for Pete Carroll and the Seahawks. Don’t be fooled by garbage stats put up by Saints at end.

If you aren’t in Seattle, you really don’t know just how bad the weather was during the game. The key was deferring and getting the wind at their backs to start the game.
