Are you ready for some football?

I don’t see why it’s unreasonable for players to adhere to uniform requirements. I don’t particularly like the scrubs I have to wear, but that’s what’s required at my facility. I can’t just show up with whatever I want to wear in order to express myself. I can do that on my own time.

What’s the spread per the Las Vegas powers that be?

Fining players for clothing is more important to NFL than following concussion protocol.

They also " surprise" lack consistency.

Old people headphones?

There it is in a nutshell. And if you’re Michael Phelps and you want to wear your white Apple earbuds under your hoodie for the world to see while waiting for the next swim heat, well we might fine you too!

Still, Kaepernick has Beats as a sponsor and he was coy about whether or not they would pay the fine he got for wearing non-Bose headphones. They’re all playing some game aren’t they?

^^^It’s all too often all about the money, and that is not limited to NFL officials, is it?

No it isn’t . Remember Charles Barkley and his 2 million reasons to not wear Nike or some other brand at the Olympics? They compromised by draping American flags over their shoulders to hide the logos. How patriotic!

Lynch sells that hat on his web site. It’s not like it was some random article of clothing.

What Lynch ought to do is doctor up, claim “social anxiety” or something, and use the ADA to sue the league and leverage an accommodation to not have to talk to the press. “I don’t want to and you can’t make me” just appears childish.

garland, I retracted my earlier comments about Manning (who had an epically bad 2013 with like 27 INT) and noted in my last post that the Giants were dysfunctional. If I wasn’t clear about that, I apologize. Manning was fairly effective versus Seattle: 29 of 44 for 283 YDS, 1TD, 1 INT, 82.1 rating, 1 fumble (2 sacks). The passer rating is clearly lowered by the yards/attempts figure. No Victor Cruz and no running back (unless you count Andre Williams). And 2 Giants had 100 yd games, Beckham (who is real) and Preston Parker (who I know zilch about). Dysfunctional team, not QB. But the point is Seattle won. Wilson, btw, in this game had a 53 rating, probably because in 17 attempts he had 2 INT (and 10 completions). So since the point is Seattle didn’t face good QB’s - and I separated out Manning’s Giants - then they really didn’t defend the pass so fantastically well against the better QB they did face.

I don’t golf so it’s massage time then probably back to the pool. Before I enter my Zen state I will say this . . . “scoreboard, baby.”

I want to be that cat.

Who is probably not thinking about statistics, but dreaming blissfully of a Seahawks win.

That’s a pretty accurate overview, Lergnom (I had misremembered your earlier post as just saying dalton was worse than you’d realized, not that Eli wasn’t awful–I retract my kvetching. )

Here’s a stat for you:
Russel Wilson vs Super Bowl winning quarterbacks, 10-0
3-0 vs Rodgers
2-0 vs Eli
2-0 vs Peyton
2-0 vs Brees
1-0 vs Brady

He may not have all the internal game stats that matter to people but I think he represents nicely in the stat that matters most.

Meanwhile, I had my massage, a mani/pedi and a blow out then decided to hit the buffet.

I completely missed cap-gate while I was having my spa day! The wacky thing is that not only was the beastmode cap in team colors and not offensive but it is made by the same company that sponsors the NFL so shouldn’t run counter to any NFL licensing agreements. New Era gets their money just the same. Also, it just seems silly to regulate what headphones a player can use. It isn’t as if they have them on during the games or they are part of the uniform. They just seem like a personal item to me.

That’s a cute stat, but the qbs don’t compete against each other.

How many of these were won on the back of the Seahawks’ defense?

Yeah, but the NFL doesn’t get a cut. Lynch has a number of trademarks for “beast mode”, and could be seen as promoting a non-sponsoring brand. Urlacher was fined $100K for wearing a Vitamin water hat.

Well - he played for Seattle that entire time so that would mean that the defense is also 10-0 against those “premier” quarterbacks which according to one Patriot here has not really been tested against the best.

But . . . good enough to win is good enough to win, does anything else matter if he isn’t on your fantasy team?
