I like the Seahawks, and Marshawn Lynch is an amazing player, but I am getting impatient with his unprofessional antics. If he’s actually a nice friendly guy, then his media act is an act and I don’t like acting fake. If it’s his real personality, then he should be able to suck it up and act maturely for a few minutes. I don’t like contrived personae. I guess I like affable players.
Winning is all that matters, but when you frame it as Russell Wilson being singularly responsible for beating all those qbs, you need to show he carried his team to victory.
2012:

SEA 24, NEP 23
2013:
SEA 34 NOS 7
SEA 23 NYG 0
SEA 23 NOS 15
SEA 43 DEN 8
2014:
SEA 36 GBP 16
SEA 26 DEN 20 (OT)
SEA 38 NYG 17
SEA 28 GBP 22 (OT)
In seven of these games, the opponent scored 17 points or less. In none if them did the opponent score more than 23.
Maybe the New England and Denver game this season could be credited to Wilson, the rest go to the defense or an epic choke.
ETA: that first win against GB was the infamous Fail Mary game. Bad refereeing and luck on a hail mary… not signs of superior qbing.
Sorry - I had not intended to frame it as Wilson being “singularly responsible” for the wins. I should say that with Wilson at the helm Seattle is 10-0 when playing teams that are led on offense by Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.
So if the Seattle defense is untested against top drawer quarterbacks and Wilson isn’t really that good and is mostly the beneficiary of luck and a dominating (if untested and not really dominating) defense, then how do people account for their solid record? Should be believe Wilson when he credits God?
Well, you have to admit God has an awesome Hail Mary.
Well there are plenty of really affable guys that somehow they aren’t paying attention to. In fact Jaylynn, they bumped your Duck, Max Unger, from his podium to put Marshawn up there. Unger is a hoot and loves interviews. He is really funny and personable. Still, the NFL bumped him to put a guy up there who wasn’t going to give really substantive answers. People crowd around the podium and shoot questions at Lynch for whatever reason - sport I guess - when there are lots of really integral and interesting people to talk to who would give you better copy.
Meanwhile a reporter asks Gronk to read aloud from an erotic novel which references him (which he does), a Patriots lineman is asked who his favorite porn star is, Wilson and Sherman are goaded into salsa dancing, Bennett waxes poetic about his game week sex life (I’m assuming he was asked although it’s a topic that he doesn’t shy away from) . . . there seems to be no limits on what the media can ask and players are expected to sit up there on a podium and answer those types of questions. It does seem like a double standard on the part of the NFL.
I know there are great people on the team (Russell! Badger!). But he gets the lion’s share of attention, partly because of his attitude. Kids think he’s cool. I don’t like it.
Well I just heard a really funny interview with Unger talking about clocking 40 times on how fast the reporters ran away from his table when they realized that Marshawn had been swapped out. Had anyone stayed they would have gotten a really great story I’m sure.
Lol hayden.
Heading out to a matinee before dinner . . .
^^^If it’s an Oscar nominated film, please report in the Oscars 2015 thread.
Silly @Nrdsb4 . . . Sundance was LAST weekend. This isn’t high brow and last I knew they don’t hand out Academy Awards to movies that require 3D glasses =D>
Was it last year that at media day some woman was walking around in a wedding dress asking players to marry her?
And this year I think Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski were there. I’m sure they had a lot of insightful analysis to add.
It’s turning into a freak show. Although Li’l Mayo was pretty darn cute.
Great sweater!!!
I cannot imagine what Johnny Weir might be asking them and I’m not sure that I want to try.
Thanks! DW made that. I’ve been waiting 10 years to add another date to it. ![]()

That’s a good woman!
The front side has a Flying Elvis on it.
It was crazy! On my way back to the hotel they even tried to ask me how I feel about Angry Doug always referring to other players as cats. Strangely Deion kept calling Doug a dog. I’m really not sure what to make of it all so I didn’t let them corner me into an answer. I pulled a Garbo.
