Are you ready for some football?

How many players in the secondary are left from last year? One?

It’s no wonder they are out of sync.

2 - Sherman and Earl Thomas III
new corner, nickel and strong safety today. Jeremy Lane is still out with the injury from the Super Bowl, Kam is holding out, Byron Maxwell went to the Eagles (REALLY missing him) and Malcolm Smith went to Oakland

and Earl is just back from his shoulder injury and has to play wearing a brace now - they are kind of boomless today. I am surprised that the linebackers haven’t made more of an impact though. They have been pretty quiet.

It feels like the Rams are bringing such good pressure that WIlson is deciding ahead who he’s going to and staring them down and doing less improvising. He just connected with JG (finally) for a TD.

Patriots’ secondary has almost completely turned over as well. They did not look good against the Steelers, although the offense was humming.

more back tackling - facepalm

That line shift at the goal line was pretty nifty too!

Classic “in your face” smart by Belichick.

With Brady’s height and great timing he is so well positioned to cope with changing personel

Omg Foles finally looked like the Foles I remember after a brilliant afternoon!

It made me laugh when the Steelers said they saw the shift on tape, but instead of preparing for it so they wouldn’t false-start on the one yard line, they accused the Patriots of cheating.

I’m sure the Patriots were somehow cheating and it made the Steelers forget to cover Gronk on his first td.

Well - I guess that answers the question about plug and play to replace Kam :frowning:

Seahawks aren’t going to budge, he’s going to be sitting for a long time… I think you need 6 games to get credit for the season, so it will be week 10 or 11 before he comes back.

And he will have racked up over $4 in fines by then.

Well here we go … Now or never

  1. Enjoyed watching the Indianapolis P**s lose to a team that by my count threw the ball over 10 yds 4x, with 2 of those barely past 10 yds and 1 sailed way out of bounds and 1 a TD because Harvin simply ran by the DB with no safety. I'd watch the Bills offense and wonder how they'd ever score and then I'd realize: they're playing the Whining B**s and they can't stop a team that's going to run up the middle on 3rd down and long. I assume Luck will play better but his receivers showed the same lack of basic grit that the entire complaining, whining, excuse making organization has since they demanded the rules be changed to protect their precious babies. Figured they'd drop a punt because poor little things can't play in the rain and with all those mean men running into them.
  2. It was humorous hearing the Steelers become whining babies. Roethlisberger can't even remember the NE defense did the exact same motion sideways in the prior quarter when Pitt scored. And Tomlin blowing a fuse as though that makes up for the inexplicable call to run an option throw with Bryant and his defense's inability to do anything with the NE offense. I never respect Roethlisberger, whose history as a drunken assaulter of women is despicable, but Tomlin - you know, the guy who stepped in front of an opposing player during a game - is making himself a caricature. Especially when the NFL says, "Our bad." As the guy who used to call the Celtics game says, people thought Red Auerbach was doing all sorts of things - like turning up the heat in the Garden - and he never did any of those things but he loved that people thought he did because it gave him an advantage. I guess if "several" AFC teams have swept for bugs - not finding any of course - then maybe they all should. And of course, Bill has his spies at the airport despite the fact the NFL requires teams to notify the opponent about who doesn't travel.
  3. I didn't get to see the Seattle game, but I expect teams will do more to copy NE's tactics against the secondary, no matter who is playing back there. As I watched last year, teams would throw right into its strength, which shows the relative quality or lack thereof of most coaching in the NFL. The teams that should have won often lacked QB's - as with AZ, which as I remember was bringing in hot dog vendors to throw.
  4. I was at the gym this AM and saw some of the pre-game, pre-season hype. The reality sinks in fast: most of the early games this Sunday were yucky teams.

OK that was a pathetic call on 4th and inches - I guess we can keep hating on The offensive coordinator a bit longer - grrrr

I saw a meme going around that something like

"Elephant calves weigh 250 pounds when they are born. These are the biggest babies in the animal kingdom.

Except for Steeler fans."

@saintfan - I guess instead of giving it to Marshawn they should have tried a quick slant.

I saw that meme, but it said Patriots fans.

@Youdon’tsay - :slight_smile:
