Nobody wanted him now but like many who cleared waivers and are still kicking around they may find a “home” based on needs later. No advantage that I know of to waiting at this point.

Hard to believe Champ Bailey got cut. What a talent. Bully boy Jonathan Martin made the 49ers team. It will be interesting to see how he affects the lockerroom there.

Champ Bailey is old and expensive and Martin played for Harbaugh before so it should be a smooth landing. I’m sure if he was a problem in the locker room Harbaugh would know about it. It will be interesting to see if anyone gets desperate enough to pick up Incognito. Apparently he may go to Tampa Bay.

The feel-good story for the Pats is Brian Tyms, grew up in group homes after being taken from his abusive drug addict parents. Was homeless sleeping in his car after high school. Walk on player in college. Has bounced around three or four NFL practice squads, but Randy Moss mentored him with the 49 ers. The kid has made spectacular catches in preseason and was easy to keep on the roster because he’s got a 4 game Adderall suspension to start the season. He might need one injury at WR in the first four weeks to make the 53 man roster, but he made such fantastic plays in preseason I think Belichick will find a spot after the suspension.

I disagree with the Texans drafting Carr. Even though he is nothing like his brother, him coming down here in Houston, that would have been a no. Just imagine the hypothetical if Carr ended up like his older brother. There would literally be rioting in the streets. What I really think we should have done is at least try to trade up in the bottom of the first round. I mean Teddy Bridgewater went 31 or 32 for crying out loud. I think that would have been a steal compared to the offensive lineman from UCLA they got in the early second round. But I digress.

Ever since Bill O’Brien was hired as head coach, there was always swirling rumors that they would find someway to bring Mallet over here to Houston. I wouldn’t say it was common knowledge, but that was just the general consensus. Personally I feel like they are trying too hard to recreate the “Patriot Model”. Not that this is wrong, it’s just that it hasn’t been very effective in the past. (Big Example Kansas City with Scott Pioli. Also Denver with the year before and during the Tebow years.) My problem with the trade is not really that I have anything against it, it’s just that I don’t really have any body of work on Mallet. Sure he had high potential when he came out of (Arkansas was it?) coupled with a maturity issue and he’s been under Brady for 3 years but still. No real body of work. Could any of you patriot fans (or any of you who follow Mallet) tell me what you thought of him from New England. From preseason maybe? Thanks

On another note: What am I going to do with my Case Keenum jersey???

Mallet has never really impressed Pats fans in his very limited preseason appearances. He’s big, he’s a got a strong arm… probably more reminiscent of Drew Bledsoe than Tom Brady. But, nobody really knows. He’s never played.

Interesting factoid: 3 of the 32 starting NFL QBs on opening day were developed under Bill Belichick.

Anyone seen the Frank Caliendo mockumenary 30 for 30. It hilarious, I think.

Brian Walters, my favorite “bubble” guy who was waived by the Seahawks when they named their 53 man roster was resigned to the 53 after all! They ended up waiving the guy who he had been in competition with. I feel bad for him but I’m sure glad they got Walters back! :D/ <:-P

I hate to burst your bubble @xiggi but Michael Sam is reportedly going to be signed to the Cowboys practice squad pending a clear physical. Jones strikes again!

As I said earlier, Sam did sell a lot of shirts …

Im going to a flag football tournament at Seahawk stadium on Sunday.
Lenny Wilkens will be on Duff McKagans team, along with Mike McCready, Jerry Cantrell and some retired Seahawks.

I love how accessibly Mike Mc and Duff Mc are in the community. Saintkid and I went to a Music Lessons Matter benefit that they played at last year. They just mingle around like “regular” people :P

Johnny Football moves a lot of merch as well and a good case can be made that his distraction/on field benefit ratio has been pretty high so far. At least Sam listened to his organization when they asked him to focus on the football and leave Oprah until some other time. Unlike some people, they didn’t have to tell him twice.

Jerry will probably encourage an Oprah reality show.

Ha! I hope not. That kid just needs to put his head down and keep working now that he has a foot in the door someplace. Of course Jerry could maybe use a distraction from his own “romantic” publicity.

The nails are painted and pizza coupons are in the purse for a stop on my way home! I was thrilled yesterday when I realized that Al and Chris are doing the game . . . they are my all time favorite broadcast team no matter who is playing.

OK, for those of you who haven’t been hooked up to the Kool-Aid IV for the last year . . . I was listening to Mike and Mike on my way in this morning and between them and the guest they had on none of them are picking Seattle to go back to the Superbowl. There were 2 Denver and one New England on the AFC side then 2 Saints and an Eagles on the NFC side. Not only that, but they aren’t even picking Seattle to win tonight in their own stadium! What gives? The guest, when asked about why it’s so hard to repeat didn’t say salary cap like I thought he would - he launched in about how some guys like the publicity and money and trapping more than the game itself and set self satisfied after winning once. Wow! That can only mean to me that he believes Seattle is such a team. Again, local sports pundit both former players and analysts think the Seahawks are better this year than last both physically and mentally. Is the rest of the known football universe really on that different a page than we are here in our little corner of it?

Saintfan, love the avatar!

One way to rebuild a program from its ashes is to burn in down in the first place. University of Phoenix might start a football program after all. A great coach might be available in the future.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, but I would I would a giant hypocrit were I to say I like what is happening in Austin. Just more reasons for high prospects to look at programs that are looser with rules, or temples of cheatin’. Look east, young man!

Jerruh IS an Oprah reality show…
