Are you ready for some football?

A nugget from the Carolina Panthers GM on Sirius radio a while back that shows how hard it is to consistently win the NFL:

How many teams start 2014 coming off four consecutive winning seasons?

Two. The Packers and the Patriots. And the Packers just squeeked in with a record of 8-7-1 last year. The Patriots have 13 consecutive winning seasons.

The Packers have Rodgers, Lacy, Peppers and Matthews but they are also missing their starting center and nose tackle. They will probably adjust OK and do well at home but I pity the rookie center and Century Link tonight. I would expect some issues with the snap.

Or, xiggi, perhaps his no-nonsense style will appeal to parents who want to send their kids someplace safe where they will be expected to behave in a manner consistent with the opportunity afforded them. I’m telling you, here on the ground, everyone I know is deee-lighted there’s a new sheriff in town.

@interesteddad‌ thank you for that

@saintfan loving the avatar as well

Now in a rush to finish all my homework so I can get to FOOTBALL!!!

Finished today’s work and settling in for football. Go Hawks!

Hard to believe that the season is starting already.

Almost there! The dog has her jersey on and had eaten pizza! Yep . . . we’re ready for some football! It’s a perfect September Seattle evening. B-)

Go Packers! Get some TDs tonight DuJuan!

Clay Matthews is looking like a beast as usual. Julius Peppers having trouble with a rookie? Now we are getting a glimpse of why Seattle got Harvin in the first place. Also, Packers special teams do not look prepared at all. I mean unusually fuzzy even considering its the first game. Anyone else’s thoughts?

My opponent has Wilson. I wanted that to be an interception. But to get through the first with potentially no fantasy points for Wilson? I’ll take it.

Hope that he doesn’t explode in the second half :slight_smile: ^
But that was such a great play by Miller, objectively speaking

Yeah, we knew that couldn’t last.

Smh at the Packer’s Defensive

Commute was a breeze today!! Go Hawks! Thanks for clearing out the town. :)

I wish my opponent had Aaron Rodgers. Ouch.

Go Hawks!

There’s a couple Packers fans here.
Did you see me on tv?
I took a pic of Soundgarden but not Pharrell.
I figured Jason Tang would post lots.
It was very organized, considering the madhouse at the Super Bowl parade earlier this year.
The bus was great. I wasn’t quite to the stop but the driver saw my #3 shirt & guessed I was going to the game & waited for me.
:)

I"m glad that Coleman got a TD. We met him at a benefit and were so impressed with him - what a nice guy!

Yay!!! :slight_smile: keep up the momentum.

Seeing as how the title includes a well know NFL tagline, I kinda thought this was an NFL football thread more or less. :wink: I wouldn’t prevent anyone from discussing any football if they want to. There is, however, a "How did your college team do? thread as well. At any rate . . . I’m pretty sure that between us all we will be successful in keeping it alive (even if I’m just talking to myself half the time) 8-}

So @xiggi - are you going Dallas or Niners this weekend? I am firmly in the Cowboy camp for this one. Then my Denver antipathy and habit of rooting for Luck to represent the Pac-10 on a national stage has me pulling for Indy.
