My mom’s ashes are in an urn in a columbarium (didn’t know that was the name of it until today), and my dad owns the niche next to her. The worst part was picking out the urn–I picked out a gorgeous one but then realized it didn’t fit in the niche. Having to pick out another one was awful

A very dear aunt and uncle died a year ago three weeks apart. My uncle had always told me that they were being cremated and there was a place for them at the church. I imagined one of those walls with little compartments. I was wrong. Their ashes were buried in a mound. First big storm I think they are going to be with the fish in the ocean.

My father died years ago and my mom was angry when he died, so she only bought one plot. She had calmed down after almost 30 years and had never remarried, so when she died, she was cremated. We buried her ashes on my dad’s grave and got a nice stone for both.

I just remembered something I noticed a few years back. You can get caskets and urns from Costco. (and no, you don’t have to buy two of them shrink-wrapped together)
[Caskets Expedited Shipping (Must order by 11:00am EST)](http://t.costco.com/caskets-expedited-shipping-must-order-by-1100am-est.html)

They even have pet urns, should you need one of those.

i don’t want my husbands ashes in the house. plan is to sneak on his fave golf course

my i want every bit of me donated - organs to those that need them and leftovers to science

My mother used to say that she wanted to be cremated, put in an urn on the mantel, and then wanted us to take up smoking, and add to her memories. Still makes me smile

Different national cemetery, but ditto. My Mom has passed first and was cremated. My stepdad’s ashes will be put into the same space at the columbarium.

Dad is also a vet and I believe he and stepmom will occupy the same cemetery. :)
