"Ashton Kutcher to make Two And A Half Men debut"

I never watched two and a Half Men, but Charlie Skeen was hard to ignore. Never watched That 70’s show, but’ have enjoyed Ashton on SNIT. Not really a question I guess…

Me too ^^^^ when is the debut?

Monday at 9 I think…because the Charlie sheen roast on comedy central airs at 10 and they said it was 1 hour after the debut of 2 and a Half men

Charlie Sheen cannot be replaced but I hope Kutcher does a good enough job to make the show interesting. I absolutely will watch the Charlie Sheen Roast on Comedy Centra. Sheen Sheen winning machine!

I though the episode was FUNNY. I could have done with less naked Ashton/Walden, but I laughed through the episode, especially with the way the ashes ended up all over the living room. Will see if they can keep this up.

I like Ashton Kutcher but I found myself missing Charlie Sheen.

It was a great first episode. I agree it was very funny when the ashes were spilled when Waldon showed up. I also liked how Waldon earned his money – another stupid purchase of a losing technology by Microsoft.

I thought Ashton Kutcher was great! And I am not a big fan of his. If you miss Charlie Sheen, watch his roast on Comedy Central - that should cure you.

I hated the way they killed Charlie off; I wish they would have done something differently to write him out of the cast. Charlie and Allen, despite there brotherly differences, were close and to see Allen, their mom, Berta, etc. making jokes and never really grieving was disturbing. Laughs during a funeral scene can be okay as long as they’re balanced with a few tears and sorrow. Despite Sheen’s character’s shallow, womanizing personna, he was a dedicated uncle and generous brother. It just didn’t ring true – a bit off, IMO.

The second half of the episode (once Kutcher enters) was funny, though. I feel like from next week on, the show has potential.

I cracked up when Dharma and Greg showed up to look at the house. It was a pretty funny episode. Poor Alan can never catch a break with the ladies.

Just about to air here in California.

jc40,I’m with you. I read that Chuck Lorre was so mad at Sheen that he just didn’t want to have any sentimentality attached to Charlie’s character at all at the end. Too bad. I agree,it just didn’t ring true at all. And the ashes flying all over the place has been done so many times before-would have thought the writers could have been more creative with the whole thing-more of the same sexual stuff, adolescent jokes. Charlie was a complicated guy and everyone knew it. Strange ending to a longtime character. The writers definitely stuck it to Charlie Sheen in the end. I do like Ashton Kutcher though so will be curious to see how all of this plays out. The roast was funny but some of the jokes(directed not only to Sheen) were very mean spirited.

I could tell the writers had to downplay any sympathy for Charlie. Actually, I never watched the show before all the hullabaloo by Charlie off screen, so I didn’t know him as a “complicated” guy. I suppose jokes at a funeral are hard to come off true. I wasn’t so sure Ashton Kutcher had to be naked, especially when meeting Alan’s son and young female friend for the first time. What’s with that? Talk about trying to be funny.

So I watched the Charlie Sheen Roast for a few mintes too. <<groan>></groan>

I was entertained…and will be there next week. Whats not to like about having to look at Ashton Kutcher…an easy way to spend 30 minutes.

I really, really wanted to like Ashton Kutcher, but found the show very unfunny. I miss Charlie Sheen

That “young female friend” was Alan’s ex-wife, ie, Jake’s mother…wasn’t it?

Yes, that was the ex. She always caught him in out-of-context moments. This was another one of those “it’s not what it seems” situations.

I really liked it (although the long hair and beard on Ashton ; blech). Full disclosure: not a fan of Charlie Sheen pre or post scandal.

Thought it was very clever how they brought back all the actresses who played Charlie’s girlfriends over the years…(Jenny McCarthy, Jerri Ryan etc)

Would have liked to see more of “Jake” last night…

Come on, the moment the ashes were delivered to the house it was obvious that they would be spilled; it happens in so many comedies. How unoriginal and uncreative. There were other humorous scenes, though, like Dharma and Gregg looking at the house. And his mother’s pushing sales of his house at the funeral was pretty much in character.

^^we never, ever watched Dharma and Gregg and are HUGE fans of Criminal Minds…imagine our surprise to see Thomas Gibson doing comedy??

Was John Stamos supposed to be in character? Or appearing as himself?
