Oh no, I’m not fan of Econ either, so I’m glad my major doesn’t require it

You’re right-according to Google maps, southpoint is 6.6 miles from Chapel Hill. I was pretty darn close though. :)

Econ 101 is mandatory for poli sci, not psych. But psych has several math requirements, and Bio 101 with a lab

haha yeah, you were basically right…i guess it just seems closer?
it’s a quick drive.

okay sorry to get off topic but i’m in a little situation here. long story short is it possible to have 2 roomies(triple)? Like on the housing app could you put two people? If not can you suggest the third person to be your suitmemate? just wondering thanks.

Some dorms, such as Cobb and Grimes, have triple rooms. So I’m assuming you can request 2 roommates. There are other dorms that offer this, but they are all on North campus. I’ve heard that on this year’s application that you can’t request suitemates. Maybe I’m mistaken…

I’ve heard the same thing, you can’t request suite mates.
Does anyone no who they typically put in triples, if someone is doing the connected learning program are they less likely to be put in a triple

yeah i don’t think any of the connected learning communities have triple rooms…it’s really not very common at all to live in a triple

i live in grimes and there are maybe two triple rooms in my building (and that’s unusual).

I live in a triple in Spencer, but it’s the only triple in the dorm. As a freshman coming in, there’s a very, very little chance that you’re going to be able to get one. They’re pretty rare.

I don’t know of any freshman who have been put in a triple. I actually didn’t know that they did triples at all. If you’re thinking triple, think double instead. Space is tight and you have better chance at alone time in a double (which in the beginning you think you’ll never want but you definitely will, haha)

This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering…

Is it the norm for friends or significant others visiting UNC students to stay in their dorm? I was hoping my boyfriend or best friend could visit every so often, and since they really don’t have the extra money to stay in a hotel, is one extra person in your bed accepted?

…anyone know about Cluster classes for freshmen?

totally fine; just make sure you let your roommate know. also i find it’s nice to have a futon for when friends come stay with us from out of town. sometimes we’d have me & my boyfriend in my bed, my roommate in hers, and two on the pulled-out futon…
i think the question is more whether you can actually get into them. upper-level courses are likely to be full when you’re registering.

That sounds great. Thanks!

ummmm…what are cluster classes??

^
Integrative general education for BAs I think.

I’m trying to sign up for orientation…but the link is down…
anyone having the same problem? it says server is down or something.

yeah, it’s been up and down yesterday and today…

anyone notice that in the url of the CTOPS registration page on there it has progname=DUMMYXXX ?..

How do you sign up for orientations?

Is the CTOPS only for language placement or are there other placement tests there?
How many years of language is required by UNC?
And do they even take the AP Chinese credit? If they do, what’s the passing grade?
