probably

whats it about?

probably

whats it about?

I have no idea.

Were you one of those who just took the SATs? How do you think you did?

I am happy to say that I was not taking the SATs today.

If you had a boat, what would you name it?

Whatever Floats, as in “Welcome aboard to Whatever Floats, my boat”

Hahaha sooo witty I know.

What’s the last obsession you had?

james dean, it continues

which of your scores is better on the SAT: math, CR, or writing?

Writing :(

Do you watch Bill Maher?

i add to your frown, as most colleges ignore my best score

yes i watch bill maher (but not consistently)

how do you feel about horror movies?

I think horror movies can be really fun to watch, not alone.

How much do you know about the East as opposed to the West? By this, I mean, do you know the history of Europe better than that of Asia? If so, does it ever bother you that our knowledge of history is half a world short?

It definitely bothers me that I’ve learned American history many more times than European or Asian history. The best year for history was 7th grade- we learned about China, India, and Africa and Hindu and Islam, but it was 7th grade, so I don’t remember too much.

Have you read The Satanic Verses (by Salman Rushdie)?

nope but i heard the book’s really evil. my country banned it in english but interestingly its available in french.

is there a flautist inside here?

Um…I’m not one, but I guess someone on here could be.

What is the book ^^^ about?

No idea, really.

Is flutist a word?

Yeah, but I think “flautist” is the more formal term.

(I’m one, by the way :))

Wouldn’t it be unfortunate to be called Salman? In an English-speaking country, at least.

My friend’s brother is called Salman! Well that’s the pronounciation, but I’m not sure how it’s spelled; he’s Pakistani.

I don’t think it’s that unfortunate, just a good laugh.

Do you like grilled salmon? (i’m having it for dinner lol)

I do like grilled salmon.

The Satanic Verses is a somewhat complicated book, but very good. There are two main characters- one a Bollywood star, one a more average Indian man who has spent most of his life in England, and isn’t really in touch with his culture. Other parts of the book involve religious stories and references to the life of Mohammed. It was extremely controversial because Muslims claimed it was against Islam. The leader of Iran issued a fatwa that called for the death of Rushdie. The book was banned and burned in many countries, Rushdie had to go into hiding, and a couple of his translators were murdered.

What is your favorite piece of playground equipment?

That disgusts me.

My favorite piece of playground equipment was the monkey bars. We used to play chicken alot :D

Did you hear about the Russian journalist who was killed due to her articles criticizing Putin?

Yeah… I couldn’t believe it at first, but there you have it.

Do you like the rain?

I used to be afraid of rain, but now I love rain!

Do you like snow?

I love snow! In the winter, I check weather.com about 50 times a day to see if there’s the slightest chance of snow.

What’s your favorite season?

Autumn.

This is what I hate about living in Texas… THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AUTUMN. The only trees that can survive are these wimpy sticks that turn a really depressing shade of brown during what’s supposed to be the most colorful time of year. There’s one particular tree in my front yard that I absolutely hate. During the winter its leaves don’t even fall to the ground, and they just cling to the branches like little brown leeches until spring. Gahh!!!

Do you say autumn, fall, or use both interchangeably?
