@admisstaff Thanks for all your input.

Hi Ialan137. I would not recommend coming down to Accepted Students Day if you have not received an acceptance package from us yet. We understand that some students may not be able to attend on the 31st for various reasons whether itâs a conflict or they simply havenât received their final decision in time, so weâve planned a few other Accepted Student events throughout the month of April such as our Monday tours and Thursday Twilight Tours. If a student is accepted on 4/1 but can only attend weekend events, we do have one more Saturday tour on 4/21. I hope that helps clarify for you!

hmmm. not feely positive about any more acceptances. Donât think admissions would plan for students to miss the accepted student day.

Yep!!! I just got the waitlist letter

Thank you!

Telulah5 - waitlisted for what major? i think I will be hearing the same newsâŠ

Hi Admissions Staff!

I was recently accepted as a transfer student! Yay! I was just curious on the process of applying for housing. Also how does off campus living work? Can you take out student loans to pay for the housing? Does the school own the housing? What does it cost?

Thank you for your response,

Alyssa

Admissions: my daughter is a transfer student who is wait listed for her major. What would be a good tour for her to take in April? You mentioned there were additional accepted day tours? Thank you.

Could you please provide some additional facts about being wait listed besides what was included in the letter? When students are wait listed are they ranked and accepted in order of their rank? When is the latest we should find out if we have been denied or accepted from the wait list? Should we send in additional papers to support our application if we have been wait listed?

Hi admissions, I was wondering if you could link me to a website that includes what graduate schools students go to after leaving TCNJ. I came across the website once before but canât seem to find it again. Thanks!

2012 parent- her major is psychology

letter said 1500 are on the wait list??? for a class of 1375 ??? gonna be a loooooong wait. See yaâŠ

Hi Alyssaalves1! Congratulations! As a transfer, the first step to get on the housing wait list is to send in your deposit. Once you do that, you can sign up for the housing wait list at [Transfer or Commuter Students | Residential Education and Housing](<a href=âTCNJ | The College of New Jerseyâ>TCNJ | The College of New Jersey) There are some resources if you are looking for off campus housing on that website too. Off campus housing is not owned by TCNJ, so I am not sure what rent would be.

Hi Mivlpl! If you received a wait list offer and are still interested in attending TCNJ, the first step is to send in the bottom portion of your letter so that we know we should be placing you on the wait list. The wait list is not ranked. When reviewing the wait list, we first look to students who submitted the card saying theyâd like to be placed on the wait list and then we look at a combination of strong students who have continued to express an interest in TCNJ by sending in updated EC resumes, mid year grades, and personal letters. Typically we pull most students off the wait list in May, but sometimes weâve pulled students as late as June and as early as late April. When we close the wait list, we will be sending a letter to all students who responded asking to be placed on the wait list to let them know.

Hey Gmcfly! Iâm not sure which page you were looking at, but this is the page that I always refer to. [TCNJ Year-Out Surveys | The Career Center at TCNJ](<a href=âTCNJ | The College of New Jerseyâ>TCNJ | The College of New Jersey) This details what our graduates have done since theyâve graduated TCNJ and notes their employers and where theyâve gone to graduate school. Check it out!

What can we do to increase our chances of getting admitted from a waitlist?

My S is waiting for the 7 year med school letter. Does anyone know if weâre definately getting it this week? I just want to know already and get it over with. This waiting is brutal!

Hey Lovetennis. To increase your chances, I would say send in the card on the bottom of your wait list letter. When looking to pull students from the WL, we exclusively look to students who have sent in that card. Also, we look for students who have continued to express an interest in TCNJ. You can do that by sending in a personal statement, an updated resume, new SAT scores (if you took them again), and an upadated transcript. I hope that helps!

Momworried - Those decisions come directly from the 7 year programs, not the Admissions Office. My understanding is that they are coming this week, but since itâs not our office, I donât know for certain. Reglardless, it will be very soon. Just hang on a little longer!

I got accepted to TCNJ, but wanted to change my major from Business/Management to Biomedical Engineering. They told me they could not grant my requenst. Can I transfer to Biomed Eng after my first year? And are all first year classes the same for everyone or are they different.

Yes, actually my two of my friends transfered from Psychology to Biomedical⊠because many of the biomeds fail the first or second year and drop out!

Hey NYM27jrey! You can certainly talk with your advisor about switching majors when you are an enrolled student. Depending on the department and the open seats they have available, you may have to apply for your major change based on your GPA or pre-requisite courses. The first semester, most students are taking some liberal learning courses and their FSP. Depending on their major, they may have a general seminar. Certainly being in one major your first semester, or 4 semesters, and then switching doesn not put you off track for graduating in four years.

So even if a switch to biomed eng after the first year, I can still get my bachelorâs degree for biomed eng right?
