Hello, when will you start rolling out decisions for Spring '13 transfer students?

Thanks!

Could you tell me some overall requirements/averages you need to get into TCNJ.

Hello! I have applied Early Decision to TCNJ. Do you have any idea if TCNJ Early Decision applicants will receive acceptance letters sooner than December 15th, or will the applicants most likely receive these letters on December 15th?

npsoccer27- Take a look at this link:

[TCNJ Fact Book :: The College of New Jersey](http://ir.intrasun.tcnj.edu/factbook/)

It shows the different averages and statistics for the different components of TCNJ including freshmen and transfer admissions. Hope that helps!

Thank you!!!

Hi i have a quick Question,
i am interested in the college of New Jersey. But I am a little bit concerned about my GPA if its high enough to get me in. Does admission look at weighted gpa or unweighted or both or does the school recalculate the GPA on their own scale?

Hi can any one tell me what the average gpa is for the students who apply early decision thanks :)

Bigman92 - Those decisions went out in the mail a few days ago. They should be in your mailbox on Monday if you havenât recevied them already.

TCNJHopeful1 - We will be mailing out decisions in the early part of this week so they will be in your mailbox on December 15th.

Sclassof20141996 - We do not focus on overall GPAs or recalculate GPAs. We look more closely at the grades you got in your individual classes and your class rank, if provided. Typically, admitted students have a high B to an A, so whatever that is for your HS is what we are looking for. Our ED apps are held to pretty much the same standard as our Regular Decision applications. We are still looking for that high B to an A in honors and AP classes.

I hope that helps everyone!

Thank you so much!

I applied about a month ago, and have yet to receive an email with my PAWs account, is this normal?

Do you take the strength of the school into account when computing class rank (if itâs not reported)? For instance, letâs say you are looking at two candidates from two NJ public schools, with one school universally acknowledged as âvery strongâ (top five in the state in various surveys and rankings) and another âmiddle of the roadâ, and the candidate from the stronger school has a GPA of 3.4 and the one from the weaker school has a GPA of 3.6. Neither school reports class rank. The candidates are otherwise identical, and the nominal difficulty levels of classes taken are identical.
For your class ranking purposes, would you automatically assign the âhigher GPA - weaker schoolâ candidate a higher internal rank, or would you look at the strength of the school?

Hi-- thank you in advance for taking the time to read my question. I applied about one month ago as a regular decision applicant to TCNJ. Does TCNJ have rolling admission, or will I have to wait to hear my decision until late March/April?

Will we also be notified of the decisions on our PAWS accounts or if we are deferred or denied, will that show on the PAWS as well?

I just recently realized that TCNJ is the school I want to go to but I didnât apply Early Decision because I wasnât 100% sure a few months ago. I have a brother currently attending, but Iâm not sure that will be enough to give me a little âpushâ. My grades do not describe the person I am or can be in the future.
Is there anything I can do to show more interest and let the Admissions office know I really would like to be apart of the Class of 2017?

Thanks!

Nickle828 - Yes, that is normal. It takes us about 4 - 6 weeks to process an application and get you your PAWS log in information.

Hometw - We certainly take the strength of HS into account. We also do not compare 2 students from different high schools against each other like that or recalculate GPAs. We look at the individual scores in individual classes, taking into account that a B at a Top Tier HS is equitable to a A in HS that is near the bottom of the ranking lists.

Justsmile1 - We do not have rolling decision. All decisions are guaranteed by April 1 for our regular decision applicants.

Pheonixtcnj - PAWS will show decisions only after letters have been mailed. Our ED decisions will be arriving at your home either today or tomorrow.

SPH555 - You can send in a personal statement to be added to your application. Just email it to TCNJinfo@tcnj.edu. Be sure to add your birthday date, full name and PAWS ID number if you have it so that we can add it to your file.

Thank you for answering. I have another question.

I was accepted as a history teacher preparation major but Iâm leaning towards math preparation. Is there a way I can change that before the start of school?

If you were deferred what do you suggest sending in? your first or second marking period grades??

Can you describe your roommate selection process? ie. Do you match students with similar interests based on a survey, etc.?

Would you be able to set up an interview for students who were deferred early decision admission?

I noticed on TCNJâs website that once you are accepted, you must maintain grades within two iterations of your grade point average. I do not think that I will have any problems with my grades, but I was just wondering if you could tell me what is meant by two iterations of your grade point average, as I am somewhat confused by what it means. Thanks in advance for your help!
