Oh you’re a girl? I thought you were some…metro sexual boy.

pansy is such a wonderful word

umm yeah I should think you would have picked up on that by now…

keep asking questions!

why are flowers and bundles of sticks derogatory names for homosex? Who comes up with these names? How can we make some more?

you mean to say “for homosexuality”
Well, in case you’ve been living under a rock, or a least on CC for the past decade, it’s high time you realize we live in 2006, these days derogatory words such as “■■■,” “pansy,” or “square” are considered socially unaccepted words. Sexual prejudice is a thing of the past, men with men, men with women, women with women, men with men and women…we live in an era where individuals are encouraged to embrace their sexuality, for all that it is or isn’t.

Um, by the way, are you sure you want to go to UChicago?

Thank you for correcting my spelling. I did say deragoartory, or at least tried to. I’m just wondering how these things came up. (FYI ive never heard “Square” before)

U Chicago, the school with unparalleled math and economics, is definetly where I want to go. What gave you the impression that I would not enjoy a place where fun goes to die and the only thing that goes down on you is your gpa? If there is one place that weather wise is opposite of beach paradise, its Chicago.

Are you joking, you’ve never heard “square” before? Oh wait, you must live in Bibleville, Kansas where they teach evolution and pray in public schools.

The reason for my response is that you seemed perplexed at such negative terms for sexuality and you also said “how can we make more?” I was merely informing you of the nature of the world we live in, of which you seem to lack a tangible grasp.

For your information, if you do go to UChicago (for one, you will be competing with me in the applicant pool…) you better not go around UChicago saying things like “oohh where can we come up with some more of these silly names for gays”

I love the hostility that is created between us. I can and will say whatever I want and no bible-belt politically correct person is going to stop me.

http://scavhunt1.uchicago.edu/lists/list2006.pdf
I suggest you take a look at this and maybe you’ll get offended by what you see. Or, you’ll be like me and almost tinkle myself laughing. I get a better sense of UChicago from this than any ranking system.

from your chances thread:
Do you think you’ll handle the CORE? Wouldn’t you rather be a will hunting library rat? Or are you trying to emphasize you desire to learn.

Well, you should figure that everyone has a desire to learn who applies to UofC, it just may be different things. I don’t feel I’m competing with you, because we come from different parts of the US, with different Test (along with their scores) with different GPA grading systems, and different interests (politics versus math).

The truth is MIT is my #1 not Uof C, but we all must be realistic.

EDIT: bibleville kansas would teach intelligent design not evolution. You know where I live, as you would not want to visit it.

You went through my thread history, how long did that take you?

Uh, I am not sure that “bible-belt” and “politically correct” belong in the same sentence. I am PC, and that is all.

Hmm, that’s a funny scavenger hunt, and why might I be offended?

Yes, I am well aware of the CORE at UChicago, and I can tell you its one of the primary reasons I regard the school so highly. UChicago is not just some degree mill, whisting students out as fast as they came, UChicago prepares you, not just for the predicted, but the unpredictable.

And, U of C is my top choice.

I just figure you PC ppl wouldn’t like

Hey…so what about those questions?

If you want to keep it real, you don’t care what people think of namecalling provided there’s a reason for it.

Remember Ashy Larry: Just be real wit’ it son, just be real wit’ it.

Some people just don’t understand it’s all one big joke and take offense or turn their noses up in arrogance. But that ain’t me. I keeps it real. :D

That’s the way to do it MatM666, show her that some people still keep it real. AND NO IT DOES NOT GO WRONG UNLESS YOUR NAME IS VERNON.

Dear OVB,

I really don’t understand why you keep saying I “turn my nose up” at certain posters on this forum. Just because I appear to be asserting myself in the face of the typographical abuse I receive from various CC rats does not mean I am not being “real.” This is all me…

dear bendy,

there’s this frinds of mine, who i regret being friends with. (there are 2 actually)
Anyway, One of them seems like trouble. I can’t explain it but he doesn’t seem okay. The second one is completely dependant on me in his social life; he only calls me to go out and only hangs out with me. Anyway, I want to get rid of them both, but they both sit right next to me in ALL classes. They are always there!!
Ugh!!!I need new friends!! They can’t take a hint. so how am i supposed to get rid of them?

so bender dude
you say your info is better than mike’s. Thats not much of an accomplishment

Dear Icer,
Why are you such a loser?
Signed,
Bend

Dear Stuck,
Try to make new friends in order to minimize the social significance of these two boys in your life. Talk to someone new.
It is your choice to hang out with this friend, why not tell him you are too busy? Take your life into your hands, do not let your friends decide who is and isn’t your friend. I’ve been through this before, you need to establish authority. If you make new friends, you will not be so concerned about them.

If they still don’t get the hint, try ignoring them or telling them directly how you feel.

One more thing,
Remember that this will pass. In a few years it will seem like ancient history. Breaking the bonds of a dependent relationship can be as hard as getting sober. It takes work, on your part especially, and not caving in. Remember, relationships which do not allow you to grow as a person are a waste of time and energy.
