Ask Mike

Standard wage. And yes I did get the irony in your question.

The thread is back due to the support of the people who appreiciate my advice, and haters like you (princess) that keeping bumping it up.

I’m having serious procrastination problems(I’m avoiding a paper right now), I’m sure you’ve been asked this already but I’m not going to sift through your entire thread. Got any advice that works.

Mike how big of an ego do you have?

I got a letter from the college board saying that they cant report my SAT scores because I used testing accomidations without approval. I did NOT use any testing accomidations whatsoever. I really need my score reported.
The College Board doesnt listen to me when I call them. Is there anything I can do?

I went down by 130 points in the December SAT. what now?

dank - Set mini goals for yourself. If I finish my p-set, i’ll give myself an Oreo. Things like that.

bob - My ego is strong and versatile. I cannot quantify how large or small it is.

joe - I need to know what testing accomodations is, before I can help you, but Id say call back in a polite business mannered tone to see if this problem can be rectified. Worse comes to worse, u can retake or try for ACT.

stuck -the DEC SAT no longer matters. Focus on better and brighter things.

Thanks for sharing. The thread is called Ask Mike.

Well, I’ve deleted my post since I realized it doesn’t make a sense and there’s hardly anything u can do for me!

what exactly is standard wage? and i’m not aware of any irony in my question…???

A security guard will make just as much at google as he would at yahoo!, ect.

What do security guards do? They protect files from outside invvaders.
What do you use google for? To find missing files.

Mike,
I’m a poli sci major but always have loved art history. The only reason why I chose to major in political science is because i thought is is much “secure” and “safe” than art. I was thinking maybe I could go to law school or something. The thing is, It seems like i’m fairly good at my major. (I got the highest score of all poli sci students who took the same course) I’m spending hours and hours at the new art gallery, and I feel my passion is art! But I’m not sure if my future will be safe or at worst if I would be regretting the fact that I chose working at art gallery over political career, if I change my major to art history now. What should I do?

I’m not mike, but I think that you only have one life to live and you should do what you love before you get old and cranky and regret it!

Besides, art history is decently secure. It’s not like you’re comtemplating somthing obscure like Vegan Studies or Animal Psychology! There are so many jobs in art history! You could be a museum curator (how cool would that be?) or one of those people who preserves the art. You could work for a place like Sotheby’s or you could be an art history teacher or professor. A degree in art history could lead to so many places! Even if you can’t find a job directly in art, you could use this to get jobs in other fields, especially teaching.

To me, politcal science is the more uncertain field. Unless you are going to graduate school for law or something, you really can’t trust political science. Politicians are always stressed out, always looking for money, and always lying to someone. Is that what you want for your life?

“but I think that you only have one life to live and you should do what you love before you get old and cranky and regret it!”

wow, what you’ve said is beautiful. Thanks :)

I believe only you can make the choice you want. I will say that if you can suceed in any field, maybe you brain is trying to tell you something. My mom was a Math/Studio Art Major in college. She went to law school and is now a lawyer, but she works part time and paints on the side. Although her stuff is beatiful and she loves painting, she knows that Art is not going to pay the bills.
But do what makes you feel better, and if all else fails, there’s always sales.

“[…] there’s always sales.”

right, right, right, and right. Now, all I need to figure out is “what makes me feel better?” Um, I might keep the poli sci major and work as an intern at the one art gallery at bay area on the side. So maybe art could purify my mind whenever my mind gets cloudy from all that politics crap. :)

Thanks princess and mike! youguys are the best!

mike, do you know how to hack into people’s e-mail accounts and stuff? If yes, how?

No, and I see no reason for doing so. E-mail is soooo 20th century.

Ask a white dude.

Mike, isn’t Family Guy the funniest show ever?
