Ask questions about summer programs here!

I recommend you do a virtual summer program. MiRcore Computational Biology program might be up your alley teaching you bioinformatics research on gene expression. And then you can continue doing research during the school year with the miRcore Volunteer Program.

Are there good stem-related summer camps that are still accepting applications?

A lot of these are STEM orientated, do you have any recommendations for prestigious, inexpensive programs that are humanities based?(specifically political science and government)

Hey! Do you have any tips for SSP, especially for sophomores (so, me applying early) applying (as opposed to juniors)? It’s more holistic so even tho I’ve got somewhat good APs and tests/activities, I don’t know if I wrote well enough. Thanks!

I’ve got 5’s on Calc BC, Phys C, Eng Lang, CS A, and a 4 in stats with 800s in both SAT parts as well as am a MIT PRIMES kid (woot) and really interested in neuro and cs? Thanks so so much! I’m really into biochem and I applied for that

Is any AI4All application still open at this time? Agh I wish I found this earlier

@GoBears2023 If you are still giving advice, could you give any advice about Princeton AI4ALL vs. Stony Brook CSIRE vs MathILy for summer before 11th grade? Thanks in advance!

@GoBears2023 I saw on another post you were accepted to MITES, that program really interests me and I’ve been thinking about applying for years. I want to ask what do you think made your application stand out the most? Thank you!

@GoBears2023 My sibling was accepted to both YSP at UC Davis and PROMYS, which would you attend if you had to choose between the two?

Hi @GoBears2023,

I recently got accepted to two summer programs which are at the same time, and I was wondering if you could maybe give me some advice on which one to choose, and what you did in the program you went to?

The two programs are UCSB’s SRA track one about neuroscience which is $2400 and from June 27th to July 23rd. The other is UCSF’s AI4ALL about biomedicine which is free and from July 12th to July 30th. Biomedicine and neuroscience with computers is my area of interest.

I’d really appreciate any experience and information you have about these camps, and recommendations on which one I should do? Thank you!

My daughter’s experience with Stanford AI4ALL was awesome!

@GoBears2023 it’s been a while since you’ve posted, but on the off-chance you see this I wanted to ask whether you have any recommendations on summer activities for a rising 10th grader who is interested in pursuing a career in medicine.

I realize this tag seems random, but I credit your feedback with getting my older student into MIT. So here I am several years later, eager to hear your wisdom for my next born!

hi! i’m a freshman at mv and was wondering what the likelihood of getting into the cosmos UCSD Machine Learning cluster is. i’m really worried about it and was just curious so that i can prepare myself for the results

What did you think of ROSS. I’ve been enjoying the application Pset and wonder what it’s like.

Has anyone applied to UChicago RIBS this year in 2023 - Any threads where this is being discussed ? Thanks.
