Alright, so I need one more teacher to ask for recommendations for gov school and I have my US history teacher in mind. However, I haven’t really gotten the chance to know him personally yet. Would it be okay if I told him that I want him to write a recommendation for me but that I would come back after 2 weeks so that he would have time to watch how I do in his class since if I give it to him now he probably won’t have anything personal to write about me? Is this a good idearrrrrrr??? thanks

I’m applying to gov. school and I asked two of my history teachers to write recs. for me. Both of them know me rather well though because I’m involved in EC’s that they’re moderators of. You should make sure that you definitely give the teacher two week’s notice because it’s difficult for them to write a rec. in a shorter period of time. I also gave both of my teachers a copy of the application so they could see what the program was about. One of them also requested a sheet with my GPA, class rank, SAT/PSAT scores, and EC’s so they could write a complete and throurough rec. You might consider doing that also because if the teacher doesn’t know you “well enough,” they will have something to base their rec. on.

ah, thanks…

What state is your Governor’s School in?
