ASU credibility

I know that ASU is regarded as a huge party school. this being the case, how seriously do businesses in the real world take graduates of ASU. no doubt it depends on who the person is and what they got out of the college, but still, does its party reputation tarnish any credibility?

In my experience the person is far more important than any label, be it college, SAT score, or GPA. If someone comes out of Harvard and presents themselves as an idiot, people will think “how did HE get into Harvard” or “his parents must be rich” even though he did go to Harvard.

Likewise, if an intelligent person goes to ASU, my experience has been that people assume they chose it for scholarship money. Just make sure to get the most out of your experience like you said, get into the honors college if you can, and make connections while you’re there. If you do all of these and people question your choice of college, you can tell them you got an education, networked, and had a great time for a LOT less money than they did.

Anyone can go to ASU, and as such you cannot rely on the name of the college to define yourself. If you are a person who requires labels to retain credibility, like “I was an honors student” or “I’m the valedictorian”, then ASU may not be the best place for you.
