ASU industrial design ranking

Hopefully someone knows something about it, how is ASU ranked for this major?

I don’t know exactly how they rank, but they always have students placing in major design competitions.

I know that the graduate program at ASU is ranked 10th in the nation accord to USWNR.

I heard it’s a very very intense program, only accepting a small amount students every year (you get accepted into the actual industrial design program after sophomore year. you’re first two years you are a preprofessional design student with a specific concentration). Only about 30 students graduate with the degree every year, making it a very individualized program.

Here’s more info: [Department of Industrial Design: College of Design: ASU](http://design.asu.edu/industrial/index.shtml)

By the way, the new USNWR undergraduate rankings come out in late august. You should check it out at a bookstore when it does for specific undergrad ranks

thank you, much appreciated

I wanted to go to a college that will accept me for one but has a relatively high rank in industrial design

Yea, that’s always tough. If you think that you’ll be very successful, and you can get decent grades, then you should be fine. I bet one of the main reasons not many are accepted is because there aren’t as many going for it in relation to other programs within the university. It’s definitely still competitive, though.
You could end up deciding that you’d rather do something like…design management…instead of industrial design when you get through your first year or two, so you’d also may want to look at a school that has lots of options in their design school, as well as industrial, just in case.
