Attending two community colleges at the same time

Hi, I’m planning to attend Sierra college and American river college . Right now, I’ve already enrolled at Sierra college and completed the placement exam. I got a good placement for English (eng 1a) , but for math , I was placed at precalculus. That means I’ll have to take a total of 5 math courses including pre cal…which might take me more than 2 years to complete , considering the fact that the three physics courses required for engineering can only be taken once Cal 1 is complete. Hence my descision to join arc.
The thing I really want some advice on dual enrollment. What are the things to be kept in mind?
Btw I’m planning to transfer to UC Berkeley and graduate with bs in mech engg.

I may have misread, but why are you going to attend two community colleges?

I dont see how attending these two colleges will help you. Pre-reqs will be enforced at both colleges, so any classes you take at one you can take at the other(assuming they offer it for that semester).
I was in a similar situation to yours, but I was able to save alot of time by taking calc 1 in the spring and then calc 2 in the summer, both 7 week courses. I also just finished my last physics class this spring and am transferring in the fall(took 2 years), so it can be done.
Just attend one college at a time, and when spring/summer rolls around attend whichever one offers the courses you want at that time.

@DeepThots Random question, I’m sorry. But how was taking calculus 2 over summer? I plan on doing that, but kind of nervous. I’ve taken general physics and chemistry over summer before.

@astrophilia The material is definitely more challenging than calc 1 and being a summer course, you will have to put a good amount of time into it daily. Personally, I was able to get an A while working full time but I had to study my ass off, including during downtime at work.
Definitely try to form a study group with others from your class and spend time in your schools tutoring center if necessary, this helped me a lot.

@DeepThots - Okay. That assurance and the experience you shared was exactly what i needed!
Thanks man, Btw I suppose you had three phy. courses to complete right? And is it possible to do a cal. course while doing phy.? I’ve known that the pre req for phy. is Cal , don’t know if its cal 1 or 2? And you attended Sierra?

@astrophilia - NVM - I think my case is closed. thanks!
